Hands on with the 2023 i7 - just incredible technology

BMW Seattle let me know they had one of the brand new i7s in, and I couldn't wait to check out this technological flagship.

The number of features, functions and upgrades are unreal and the biggest challenge will be deciding are you driving it, or riding in the back!

What an amazing machine! Check out the review and test drive.

Not a big fan of the exterior, looks too boxy and definitely don’t like the split headlights. Grill still hasn’t grown on me.

The interior technology though is pretty sick. Automatic doors is for sure a wow feature.

I took a i7 out for a drive 3 months ago as I waited at my local dealership during a service appointment. Very impressive technology, as the interior has that ‘wow’ factor. But I will wait for this new tech to trickle down to the other BMW models. i7 is too dam heavy, but it drive smaller and lighter than it’s weight—I’m not mentally prepared to drive a i7 boat yet.

It is certainly large for sure.. shockingly so if used to smaller cars. I will say lane keeping in it was really easy on the drive, and I was expecting it to be a struggle. (for me)

You should be the photographer of BMW Seattle! Always annoys me how sloppy they took pictures of their new cars!
Great review btw!

Ah thank you.. I just wing it honestly, but I do post the best to their Google listing.

The crazy thing is 750,000+ views on just my shots on their entry. Kinda nuts really.

Had they gone non split headlights- this would be an amazingly good looking car.

I was not a big fan but the X7 and the 7 in person I actually like it.

I don't care if it has more technology than Apple, Google, Yahoo and Dell combined. NO way in hell I submit to the embarrassment of being seen in or getting out of something that hideous in a parking lot.

I'd rather get out of an Aztek or Edsel.

Can we just move on from the split headlights? The car looks the way it looks, let’s just accept that. No amount of complaining on a forum will change that, only sales numbers will. Can we instead talk about the car’s capabilities, features, issues, things we found and want to share as way to help current and future owners?

Yup.. kinda like stressing over the G8X designs at this point, the nose is the nose as it were.

I really wish I could have had more time with the car, but that was the best I could do with the LINE of people waiting to see it. It would take a week to walk through all the technology and really appreciate the fine details and customization.

I’ve seen the i7 in person and I agree it’s better looking than the x7.

Take away the eyebrows though and the regular headlights look almost badass rolling into the kidney. “Hidden eyes”

Idk if you’d want the i7. This is not a car for the twisties. The i7 is a car to be chauffeured in imo, not to drive. I don’t wanna be a limo driver.

I don’t know about i7 but 760 in sports plus mode is hell of a car for cornering and having fun. Yes not a track car but rides so well for its size in sports mode. Totally different character than in normal mode

Disposable 150k electronics soon enough since dealers will be the only ones to service them. As it is dealer estimates are insane even knowing they have competition from independent shops. Imagine what they will charge when they know they’re the only game in town.
