lowering the bmw g11
hello there, does anyone know how to lower the bmw 7 series just by a little bit? i don't want to have to continuously put the car in sport mode for it to go lower. I was hoping there would be lowering links for the car like the s class.

INPA or Preferably Rheingold to calibrate and adjust the height, and coding to adjust speed changes.

Also have something in development to make this specific mod simple and flexible, but will be a few months at least before it's ready. |

How low do you want to go? Sport on your car is -10mm from normal height, B7 and M760i are -20mm from normal compared to your car. -40mm causes the air compressor to run in a special modes. -30mm will probably cause the struts to bottom out often. Completely deflated, the car sits on the bump stops at -60mm |

I've been doing this for a long time on vehicles with the continental two axle air struts without lowering links and without a separate module.
It can go very, very low, but it's unpleasant and will throw faults past a certain point. It's not like putting lowering springs on which have a higher spring rate to compensate for the shortened range of compression. I dropped one of my A8's down for an event 10 years ago. The drive there and back was excruciating even with it raised up to lift height. |

There will be secondary application methods that will allow an override, they just aren't ready yet. |

AND i still want the lift system in the car to work though. in case of going over speed bumps, etc. Last edited by brian1215; 03-24-2016 at 01:21 AM.. |

1. Programming and coding (programming the heights, then coding speed values to prevent faults and "over-lowering". Waiting on the M760i and B7 to be released to see if those algorithms and values can simply be carried over. 2. Module (H&R will be the supplier and available direct from them or under 3rd party branding) 3. A new method I have some engineers working on currently. It will be the most versatile and easy method. I require 15k miles of testing without issues before release. Now...-30mm is maximum but will be an issue with ride quality. That only leaves 30mm of suspension travel and it is not possible to change the theoretical spring rate. It will be very uncomfortable and constantly bottoming out on the bump stops. -40mm is not possible as that level triggers an emergency mode for the air compressor, the two holding tanks, the battery power distribution, and notification to BMW ConnectedDrive Services. This cannot be defeated. |
