Not sure about the Canadian spec version but in the UK it was not standard so you had to pay for it. I believe you can get someone to code it in if you have a 2016 model that was built after June 2016 IIRC? (someone correct me if I am wrong)...the coding your 7 series thread has details in it that can confirm what date it can be coded from.
Hope this helps, enjoy the 7, safe travels.

CarPlay was not introduced until MY 2017; per BMW cars produced before 7/16 were not eligible for conversion/addition, by BMW that is. That being said, I just had my 2016 750 (production 8/15) coded to have full screen CarPlay (a simple 10 min process via Esys)-cost significantly less than BMW, no less. Only thing I am not sure about is whether the car's firmware needed to be updated or not (mine was updated to P1836xx.

Depends on when ur car was made if it's a early build like before July u have to get it coded in. The equipment is all there just not activated but if it's a later build after July You gotta go threw connected drive set up a account if u don't already have one and pay for it !!

To be honest with u I think it depends on the individual I was totally hyped about getting it up and running but once I got it running I honesty don't use it like I thought I would good things are that it's easier to manipulate music from different apps and sources and more options as far as Navi like Waze google and Apple Maps but no heads up display that works only with factory Navi my personal opinion I don't think it's worth what they are charging only because here u have a 100k car and u want me to pay but u can go buy a 30k car from anywhere else and it's free !!! Not to mention most others offer not only CarPlay but the Samsung version forget the name lol 😂 all free I personally think they nickel and dimed us on this one !!! I can't seem to justify in my head how we all have this supposedly top of the line automobile which I love so much that I have two of them tells u I'm a lil off lol but yet I'm payin for something that someone with a damn Buick gets for free !!!!! Just doesn't add up to me but all just my personal views !!

That's true when you say it's down to every individual. Had apple car play in my S class and wasn't using it at all. Thanks for your reply ![]() |
