Rear Fog Lamp Retrofit
Has anyone attempted to retrofit their 7 with rear fog lamps? I believe the wiring is in place, but are there bulb sockets at the rear lenses? Is it just a matter of adding bulbs and replacing the switch pack to the left of the steering wheel? Thanks!

I was a bit ticked that the NA models don't have the rear fog lights either when I was looking at buying a 7er, but it's such a trivial thing that I haven't thought of it ever since I picked up my car anymore until you mentioned it again a while back. Honestly, I don't miss it at all...
As with almost all other features, the cabling may be in place and you may be able to install the switch but I would bet that some programming is also involved as almost every feature and function is controlled by some sort of controller in the car. The advantage of these controllers is that they can tell you if the bulb is burned out or they can control the functions without you having to turn something on via a switch. The drawback is that everything requires a special programming interface and in-depth knowledge of how and where to change certain settings...

it is my understanding that wiring and bulbs are already installed. this was also the case with our 135i. we simply retrofitted to the euro headlight switchplate containing the rear fog light button.
i have sent a msg to the vendor to see if he can provide one for us. i'll keep you updated |

I believe most if not all bulbs/functions are controlled by the controller and not directly by the button. If that is the case, you may also need to get the controller programmed for this function to work properly.
