turbo water pump!

So after having my 2014 750i 4.4 for 6 months,
I took off the plastic turbo cover under the hood and saw a reservoir.
I opened it and saw it was empty.
I started digging around in my owners manual and there was no mention of this thing anywhere.
After a online search I discovered that it was a coolant reservoir for the turbo coolant pump.
I added yellow concentrate.
My questions are ,is it suppose to circulate(I can't see it moving coolant)?
Secondly how can I tell if my pump is bad?
I heard that the pumps were prone to failure.
Why is there not a level sensor in this tank?
By all accounts, bmw manual doesn't know it has this pump.
Any info could be helpfull, please and thank you.

It will throw a code if failed, drain all of that yellow coolant and refill with either Zerex G48 or BMW Blue.

Inspect the coolant lines leading to the turbo, they will fail and leak coolant. You may see some white residue or in some cases crystallization. If you have plastic T connections, replace them as soon as possible. If they're metal, inspect the rubber lines and replace if necessary. Otherwise, if obvious leaks are not visible, connect a pressure fitting and set to 15psi and check again for leaks. You may need to remove the upper core support bar, it's just a few bolts but will allow for a better view.

No codes,everything is normal.
I can't see any corrosion but the plastic connectors are still there.

Fill, check level over a week or so, if it goes down- pressure test the system.

I would go ahead and change those turbo cooling line Ts, they will snap and leave you needing turbos.

Thank you very much.
I'm not going to change them out tight away because there is no sign of leakage yet.
But I am going to order them and have them ready.

The one on the left is a little dirty but it's not coolant corrosion.
