Transition from G70 to F95 LCI
Hi guys,
I posted this on the F95 forum, not sure if it was in the right place, but in a nutshell i'm very close on pulling the trigger on an F95 LCI while trading in my G70 740i, only 5 months in. I'm struggling with my own thought process, whether I want to keep the luxury or make the switch. I'm a huge sucker for high performance SUVs. In fact, buying the G70 was an impulse buy, and I absolutely love it, and love all the perks that some with it, but I still feel a soft spot for the high powered M cars. The F95 is scheduled to arrive in 8 days, and i'll go have a look in person and then make a decision. Any guidance, help would be appreciated, or if anyone has gone through a similar situation. i understand your choice - anything above 4s for 0-100 was not acceptable for me. that's why i ordered the G70 M70 that does 3.7.
yes, it's electric - bus i still have my AMG with the 6.3l engine i would not have changed from mercedes to BMW if there was no fast and powerful car in the offer. i also looked at the M8 competition - but for every day use i don't like it somehow. the A column and roof is too low for comfortable entry. |

If you're not ready for EVs yet, than I too would likely drop the i6 7er in favor of the V8TT F95 LCI |

Been waiting for someone with a similar interest as I did. I recently went from the X5M competition to the 760i because I thought I wanted a quieter ride. I traded the f95 for the 760i based on the ride and interior, two things that the 7 series does better than all the different BMW models. After about 4 test drives I bought the 760I, with some reluctance, from a distant dealer who contacted me after they had just gotten one in on the truck and wanted to move fast. It had most of everything I wanted except for the B&W upgraded sound system. Keep in mind that I wanted some type of upgrade and added technology but damn, I miss the X5M! There were some things that bothered me about the X5M like the excess brake dust and brake noise and the extra time it took to detail the car. Don’t get me wrong, I love the 760i and it would be hard for me to part with now. I took it on a 1700 mile round trip last month and I have to tell you that ,even though it rained most of the drive back, this is for sure the best experience I have ever had in any car that I have owned. It was so smooth and quiet, very efficient on fuel and the positive attention and compliments were nonstop. When leaving the hotel, the valet brought the car around and people gathered around saying how beautiful the car was and how they liked the color. They acted as if I were there to give a demonstration or test drive while I was loading my bags. Lol! Ok, long story short, lately, the new 2024 X5M has caught my attention and has me thinking but after I go for a drive in the 760i I’m satisfied again. The biggest things I miss is the sound, the sporty looks , aesthetics and sharp driving dynamics of the X5M but it has nothing on the quality, luxury or technology of the 7. This being said, I would truly love another F95 but, I’m afraid that I’d miss the 7 too much. I have always wanted an M5 or M8, the M8 cost more than I’m willing to pay so that is out. I’ve decided to wait to see the new M5, by then I might be ready to part with the 760 and will make a decision between the M5 and the X5M. The next purchase may very well be my last BMW purchase, maybe. I hope this helps with your decision or it probably adds more conflicting ideas. It’s not an easy choice, the best choice is to have both an M car and the 7 series, depending on your driving needs.

Exactly! it feels like a honeymoon phase and now that it's a daily interaction you're starting to see the gaps..

I guess i should consider myself pretty lucky. I haven’t had any issues with my 760i. Other than the Apple CarPlay acting up from time to time, I’ve not any problems. Knock on wood! I probably could have used the issues as an excuse to trade for the X5M, lol! But yeah, I can understand where you guys are coming from on the honeymoon phase. I will try to hold out though as I don’t drive the 760 much with less than 4000 miles on it. Again, it is a great car, personally, I just don’t think I was ready to let go of the fun of an M car or SAV.
