2023 BMW 760i | Delivered & Wrapped

It's been a hectic couple of weeks since I took delivery of the new 760i, so I haven't had much of a chance to take any decent pictures yet. I did have the fine folks at Esoteric tint & wrap the car for me, though, so I thought I'd share the link to their gallery here, particularly if someone is curious about a satin wrap on the new G70.

My intention was to just get the front end done with regular PPF, but things snowballed from there. Because I optioned the chrome grille (I didn't want to lose the LED surround and I don't like the rectangular box in the middle of the shadowline grille), I asked Esoteric to wrap the chrome (front & back) in satin to "calm it down" a bit. (It worked!) I've known those guys forever, so when they suggested wrapping the Dravit Grey in satin PPF, too, I accepted.

Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about the wrap yet. I don't hate it, but I do miss the depth of non-wrapped Dravit Grey, as this is now the 4th BMW that I've ordered in the color. And, the car gets a LOT of attention... due in no small part to the satin wrap, I think. So, it may not stay, but here it is for now, expertly applied by the guys at Esoteric.

Esoteric's gallery here:
https://www.esotericdetail.com/project/bmw-7-series/

Aside from the wrap issue, I love the car. I had a first year 750i from the last gen, too, which was my 7th 7-Series... and, truth be told, I hated it. It felt big and floaty and was everything that I didn't want in a 7-Series. So, I traded it on a series of M550is and X6Ms. I really had no intention of biting on the new 7 until I sat in one. Holy crap, they pushed the envelope with this car and I love it.

More thoughts and pictures soon, if people are interested.

I love it!! I was going to do the exact same thing (Dravit gray and stealth wrap) but ended up getting a frozen grey instead which I wrapped for easier maintenance ($5k extra for the paint + full wrap cost, yay…).

Anyway, love the look!

Frozen Grey was going to be my choice if I didn’t go with Dravit, actually. My main issue (aside from still having to wrap it) was that I’ve never seen it in person. I know and love Dravit, so it seemed like the “safer” choice. I’d love to see pics of your car, though!

Thanks, Gemini.

I’m still adjusting to it. I really do think it looks cool. I think I just miss the gold fleck in Dravit when it’s not wrapped.

Here’s are a couple snaps that also show the wheels after powder-coating. Also, I didn’t menotion it in the initial post, but Esoteric tinted the windows while they had it, as well.

Looks great! My guy at Nomad Autworks tried to persuade me to do the same thing, I think it would look nice but I have Brooklyn grey so I was thinking that it may be too light of a color to go satin. I don’t know but I just went with the clear PPF and ceramic coating. I noticed you got the wheels either dipped or wrapped too. It definitely has a different look, I like your style of wheels a bit more than my jet black 909s . Great looking car!

Have some pics in the first post of this thread. This is before the wrap and ceramic coating but it didn’t change the look much at all.

Front looks really good. I'd wrap the reflectors as well. Enjoy in good health.

It’s difficult to tell in my pictures, but I really do like the look of the chrome grille wrapped with satin PPF. I haven’t had a job-shadowline grille in ages, so I was nervous about a lot of bling-y chrome, so the satin overlay does a great job of toning it down. And, then I’m able to still enjoy the LED surround, while bypassing the weird rectangle piece in the middle of the shadowline version.

Interestingly, I noticed on the release pics for the forthcoming i7 M70, the shadowline grille does have the LED surround… although they didn’t eliminate the rectangle in the center.

Just closed the deal on a Mineral White i7 with basic M-Sport pkg. Not a fan of chrome, but also wasn't a fan of m-sport pro blackout grille more.

Can you get any better pix to share of your satin-wrapped chrome grille. This intrigues me and seems like a better option to execute instead of my idea of trying to get only the grille surround wrapped gloss black.

I’ll try to get some pics when I get back home (I’m traveling), but basically I had them put satin PPF on the chrome grille surround, as well as the chrome strips above the taillights. It’s still chrome, obviously — the color hasn’t changed — but it has a bit of a matte/brushed appearance and it less shiny/mirrored. It’s subtle, but a definite improvement, IMO.

The good news, I think, is that those items arewrappable. What you wrap them with is your call. After not having any chrome on my cars in years, I sort of like the look of the contrast. (And I hated that stupid rectangle in the middle of the shadowline grille. Plus, I didn’t want to lose the LED surround.)
