2012 BMW 740Li

Please, help on this one. Took to 2 different mechanics and have said the following:
Whomever was the previous owner replaced the valve cover and used the wrong sealant (orange) and because of this the fuel injectors are now clogged with this sealant.
I don't really know if this can happen or not. Please provide feedback so I am not out a fortune in parts and labor. Thank You!
