It's an interesting colour, in some conditions it looks like Nardo grey in others Fashion grey and appears to be a flat paint then in bright sunlight it has that shimmering amber sunburst effect.

Clever paint, Dravit grey does the same but in different hues and then has a golden sunburst effect

Interesting, I wonder what that is.

we asked our dealer and they said a lot of 7's are held up right now waiting for some parts (chips I would imagine?). Whatever it is, our car went into quality check 6/15 (ish) and its still there now.

You got me a little worried now. I'd really like to get mine before new model is available, otherwise I may as well cancel it and wait a bit more for good offers on those. And I don't want to wait longer.

I've asked my dealer for an update and the car has departed the plant (code 9000) so is built (obviously) and is in the hands of the carriers on the way to the port all on schedule for September delivery.

when did you order yours?

Ours is still in quality check where it has been for 2 months now. I'm seriously starting to wonder if I should just cancel and wait for the new body style 2023.

I'd definitely consider this option if I were you.

I ordered first week of July, is yours still at the factory? Or Port etc..

Just to update the dealer has asked for my preferred delivery date this morning.

Ordered first week of June and my new expected delivery date is 1st of Nov (it's not even in production yet).
Does anyone have a comparison with Macan in terms of comfort? It was my 2nd option on the list and with just refreshed model maybe it's not a bad idea after all.

Who is your dealer? It seems really odd that you're having these issues mine is Berry Heathrow.

Sytner High Wycombe. Generally I was pretty happy with the service so far, but most of my questions by email or direct calls are not answered (my newest update is from BMW online chat). I feel I can get an update only if I show up in the dealership. I'm getting a little worried if this deal will go through despite having paperwork done long ago.

For the delays, maybe that's an issue with some parts? I took tech and comfort pro packs, so it adds some non usual stuff which might be in short supply (just guessing now).

It could be down to the build slot, I was told that the 7 wasn't affected by the delays so perhaps the salesperson gave an initial build slot they didn't have (given yours didn't go into build) or perhaps the tech/comfort pack pushed the slot back as they had a real squeeze, but the chip issues seem to revolve around HK sound and wireless charging and both those are standard.

Bit of a bummer for you though.

Could also be that Berry Heathrow already had a car in pipeline that was still spec amendable prior to being locked, and that the others were fresh factory orders.

I placed a fresh factory order for a G12 for the office a couple of weeks ago and current view is November delivery. We are trying to pull forward via escalation, but lead time seems to correlate with other non spec amendable orders. Our dealer had no pipeline orders to spec amend.

We have seen this when a dealer has no allocation - it is possible they had no g11/12 allocation in June or July and were actually unable to physically order on factory until August, as this delivery date broadly fits with our G12 order in early August.

Yes they had a slot otherwise they couldn't have quoted a delivery date.

I think mine was actually ordered in factory, as I got an email from BMW in June (about 2 weeks after placing order) that my vehicle is now scheduled to production and can change status at any time now. 2 months later and no further updates.

All cars are ordered through the factory, the variable is if your dealer didn't have a slot then it's going to be down to what they get from BMW, so the initial build/delivery date was an estimate but they should have told you that, e.g. we haven't got a slot but will try for X week if not it'll be X etc...
