Talking New to 7Post - 2013 BMW 750i XDrive M Sport

Hi All,

New to the forum.

I just purchased a 2013 BMW 750i X Drive M Sport with 90K miles for an incredible price. The craziest part is I never intended on purchasing the car. I just happened to stumble upon it while browsing Autotempest for a minivan.

I heard the N63 horror stories so I was VERY reluctant. Even if the 2013 had the more reliable N63TU. But upon seeing the incredible CarFax history - one owner, no accidents, full maintenance history through same BMW dealer - I decided to drive the 2 hours to take a look.

VERY glad I did. The moment I got there, two more people showed up right after me wanting to make an offer. So I just ended up buying it on the spot.

I immediately took it to a well respected indy BMW specialist in my area who confirmed the car had zero issue items. When I told him the ballpark price I got it for, he told me I stole the car. Feels good.

The paint is in great condition considering the miles with only road chips present. The interior is in great condition minus the normal wear and tear on the steering wheel and arm rest - which I have begun restoring. Interestingly enough, the driver seat is pristine with no wear or cracks. So much so that I am convinced it was replaced at one point.

I have restored the center screen, fixed a broken rear climate switch, and added CarPlay. Looking to restore the steering wheel and add additional ambient lighting to keep it modern inside.

As for the outside, I like to keep mods to a minimum. So it will stay as clean as it is for now.

I like to be an involved owner so joining a forum is just natural to me. I don't see much participation from others, but hopefully my activeness can encourage others to join in as well.

Here are some pictures of the project I have done thus far.

Welcome to the forum. I just purchased my 750li last month. I have previously owned two X5 50i Msports but decided to try on the 7 series's for a bit. That new screen looks amazing. Where did you purchase that and the new knob for the rear climate control? One of mine is broken as well.

The screen is the same screen. I just polished off the standard anti-glare coating and minor scratches with Novus Fine Scratch Remover then installed a Nu-Shield DayVue screen protector. They have one for the 7 series but it is too long and short so better off getting a custom size. I definitely plan on doing so the next time I need a replacement.

As for the knob, I got it from local dealer. Part number is: 61-31-9-393-931. Not cheap at $32, but a necessity.

Great find and I like the front grill more than the larger later model years.

Thank you and agreed. While not the biggest fan of the ass on this thing, the face is a thing of beauty.

Great find and I agree on the front of this car. All the German car mfg. seem to be acting lemmings and copying Lexus with the ugly oversize grills.

For me, it just feels like the chrome strip and reverse lights were an after thought. They could've done more to tie it all together.

That is one thing they got right on the G11.

You're absolutely right about the chrome stripe as well as the chrome flaps on the front , rear bumpers and the side markets ... idk who thought that would look ok , that's why i had my stripe and the rear side
markers wrapped in carbon fiber wrap to match with the diffuser side skirts and the rest on my car ... i think that made a world of difference
p.s. the new ones have the chrome stripe as well 😏... don't even get me started on the ridiculous kidney grill and the fake vents smh
