Transmission learned driving reset
In past cars I have had, there has been a sequence that can be executed to reset an adaptive transmission back to stock settings so that the "learned" driving style is forgotten. Does anyone know if our cars operate similar and if so what sequence is used? 2021 750i.

Leaving aside throttle and focusing on gearbox, I’d expect it’s a software-only reset these days. The gearbox will be constantly adapting.
If it can ‘learn’ your wife’s driving, it’ll ‘learn’ yours once you drive it again. That’s my view. |

I think it was a real thing, but I recently read an article... can't remember where... that says even if you can do it now, you shouldn't. Details escape me. You'd think though that the adaptation would be ongoing, you know, for owner changes. A lead-foot sells the car to an old man who doesn't like to go over 35 MPH. Or vice-versa. And if it was *really* smart, the adaptation mapping would be unique to each driver profile. That would solve the wife problem. Well, one of the wife problems.
