Best OBD for coding modules

Trying to reset my ecu module for my liftgate as I replaced it with a used one and car won't detect it. Or do I need to get a ISTA+ program on a laptop to do it ?

You cant do that with ista, you need esys.

I'm sorry but I'm new to this stuff, is ESYS easy to use or should I just take it to a dealer to code the module to my car?

You are beat of to take it to a delaer or someone local that can code it for you.

Ok cool I'll reach out to my local BMW indi shop see if they can do it otherwise off to the dealer
