Do they explode at 51k? That’s barely broken in. The other one has 30k miles. Offers buy cars, not asking prices.

I paid more than that for my FF with 41k miles and a GT3 with 40k miles. A 40k mile GT3 is about $135k today. So apparently lots of people will pay that.

Does it? There aren't really that many sports cars left, so the field is getting smaller and smaller day to day. With Camaro SS 1LEs, Corvette Stingrays, Mustang Mach 1s, let alone their higher end models, I find that a bit hard to believe. We could start talking about ZL1 1LEs, GT350Rs, which tend to be closer to or as fast as GT3s. Other manufacturers have figured out how to make cars go and handle well, it's not the big mystery it was before global communication. Even without SPASM and RAS, they've had to keep making the 911 chassis wider with ever wider tires. Why do that if it handles so well? The 911 is a great car, but that's in spite of it's rear engine layout, not because of it. McLaren, Ferrari, GM and the Cayman are starting from a better chassis layout and just going further from there. Can they still make a 911 as fast? Could they make a Cayman faster? Definitely. I race with/against Porsches and am familiar with their handling and capability. IMO, Porsche should just use a 911-style body on the Cayman and call it good. The "rear seats" are just as much of a joke as in most other sporty 4-seat cars with 2 doors. A nice place to put your groceries, but so is the trunk. Still, they are great cars and engineered well, it's just that, yes, they seem to be a bit overrated unless you are going to the absolute nuts levels like Turbo, GT3, etc...

So I just saw this on the Cool Pic thread and thought I'd post it here as well. Porsche does it right, they know their customers.

50K miles is too much on a 2015? That'll do me, like seriously that's nuts.

The hysteria around mileage in this thread has grown beyond hilarious.

A few years ago, Porsche said in a release that 70% of all 911’s are still on the road today. I’m pretty sure a hundred thousand miles (or a couple) doesn’t faze these cars.

Also, my McLaren is a couple of ticks under 12,000 miles. BRB, I’m going to find an empty lot to set this now-worthless thing on fire in

I would say for what I was expecting it didn't live up to the expectations that I had.

These are opinions here and I not saying it was bad, but overrated, definitely yes. I would miss my M3 if the 991.2 or T was a direct replacement and not an addition.

I also owned a FBO F80 2015 M3, AW/FR, and owned it for much longer than the 911 (2 years) but felt the E90 was better than that car too and went "backwards" to the E9x so maybe we have different tastes ; ).
Are you comparing just the sound or are you actually comparing the cars in terms of handling, driving inputs, fit/finish etc.

NA V8 in E9x obviously sounds MUCH better than a Turbo flat 6 in 911T. The 911 will run circles around E9x M3 on the backroads or especially the track. I have both F80 and 911T - the 911 is on a different level dynamically. Its that engineering when you push it at the limit that truly separates the Porsche.

I do agree that M3 is a tremendous value for the performance and E9x cars are great because of the NA V8.

We are in different universe if you are comparing 911 to Camaro, Mustang and Corvette. Lets agree to disagree lol

McLaren, Ferrari etc can’t make a car that you can beat on at the track consistently without breaking down. Go to local event and count how many 911s / GT3s are there. Even in comparison tests, Porsche always produces better results over the mid-engine cars as it’s usually lighter and easier to control.

There is a reason Chris Harris drives 911 and not McLaren or a Mustang 😆

The rear seats are not a joke as i go on weekend trips and car events with my kids in the back all the time. Can’t do that with a Cayman. Most 911 owners love the car’s useability that’s why its so popular!

Impossible to get and all sold out.
I’m sure ADM is north of $250k

Beautiful car with that ducktail spoiler and the ad is amazing!

I literally just stepped out of my 997 and still think you're drinking cool aid.

The back seats CAN be used, i use them, but they are absolute shite and very, very difficult to work with. The Mustang cab I rented had a touch more space and is FAR easier to install a child safety seat but it is a far, far larger car.

As for the comparison to other cars, yes they are all considerably heavier and less dedicated but for the same or less money one can grab a much newer Mustang or Camaro or E92M3 which offer a great compromise. I literally crossed shopped these cars and even today I am not sure I made the right call as just registering this car is a fucking headache.

It's a shit ton of fun but the other options are legit with the big, big differentiator being the weight.

Something about the interior is not working. I think houndstoothe on the sorta brighter beige is clashing, feel like it needs more grey in the leather. Something is off for me.

The sport classic looks amazing but I’m sure it will be $300k and come with another $200k ADM on top.

The Cayman is what the 911 would've evolved to... if us purists had some genetic modifcation that kept us from vomiting at the thought.

That is the theory... and I don't need a 911 to handle better than mid-engined cars. It's a 911. yes - 911 body on a Cayman chassis would be the ultimate looker-driver. but then where would you put your 4'2" legless children?

I just couldn't do a 2 seater, who do I drive off with and who do I leave behind?

Just got a brand new ZL1 at MSRP (72k). It’s obviously not a 911 but it is one of the best value per dollar sports car you can find right now.

I’m currently on many 911 lists (closest is a GTS) or looking for a used 991.2 or 992 in specs that I like at a certain price point. As has been said, 911s of any variety in the used market is nuts right now.

My GTS build is a 170k, I know it’s obviously a better car in every way than my ZL1, but I have to admit I’m asking myself is it really 100k better after spending a lot of time with the Camaro lately. But, I’d never say a 911 is overrated if that makes any sense. Just don’t know if I really want to pay that much when I’m having a ton of fun with much cheaper alternatives.

It's not 100K better.

WHat a 991.1 GTS go for? Got the proper engine in it anyways.

If you can afford the payments the only thing that matters is the cost when you buy it vs the cost when you sell it. I've lost more money on a $20k X3 than I have on $100k+ 911's. The GTS holds its value extremely well, I'd be surprised if you could get one for even $20k under MSRP within 3 years used.
