I paid 1K over invoice and interior floor mats were included, but no truck mat.

I got my car for $900 over invoice and the dealer would not throw in the floormats for free. But she is willing to sell me all accessories 15% off invoice. I guess it's better than nothing.

They should throw the matts in!
Unless you bought the car at invoice the matts shiould be part of the deal. It will cost the dealer $65USD for carpet and $37.50USD for rubber - pennies on a $40K purchase.

The E90 does not come with mats, and they are considered an accessory. However, most dealers include them. With both our cars we were asked "carpet or rubber?".
Unless you negotiated them to almost no profit, I would tell the dealer that you expect the floor mats of your choice to be in the car when you take delivery. No floor mats - no signatures.

It is insane that the dealer cannot throw in a simple set of mats! I couldn't believe that we didn't have to pay for the cigarette lighter. I always get a set of floor mats with any car that I buy.

I said I would not get the car w/o mats, he said he tries to get mats. Later he came to me and ask "rubber or carpet"

I got the 330xi (Ordered early December). Mat were thrown in. The dealer said that because they were an exectutive dealership or something of that sort they provided the mats free on all there cars. This may just be a case of how big the dealership is that you are going to.
Also to get me to close the deal (i was $400 over invoice at this point) he threw in winter mats as well for free. Don't settle, push and be prepared for it to be a deal breaker. Let them know there is more than one dealship around. |

Don't underestimate that survey - the dealers seem very keen on getting a perfect score as it must be pivotal to a nice monetary reward. That's probably your last hope of leveraging for a free set of mats. |

I have not purchased one car in the last 10 years that did not come with the mats - including my e90.
As noted before, the cars get delivered to the dealer with them - I would politely mention this to the dealer and tell him that you are very disapointed in them for making an issue out of it. |
