2017 7 Series G11 NBT EVO (NBT2 / ID5) with Rear Entertainment

Hi All,

Made a road trip up to Stratstone BMW Leeds yesterday to pick up my 2017 G11 7 Series with NBT EVO (ID5) with the rear comfort package inclusive of rear entertainment screens.

Disappointed to see that the inputs for the rear cannot be shared amongst all 3 screens to allow passengers in the front and the back to all watch the same thing using the USB and HDMI inputs. The only input that seems to function as I would have expected from all is the OEM TV Tuner. I also noticed that I can use the USB port in the arm rest for the front (Not USB input for rear screens) to play video files to the rear screen for the kids and control it all from the front. Again this only plays in the back and not the front at the same time.

Can anyone please help with ideas on how it would be possible to play from a USB/HDMI on all 3 OEM screens.

Many Thanks

Af

I'm not familiar with the system but if there is no solution that is existing within the car, the only thought that comes to mind is running a Y splitter that connects both screens to one player.

Thanks bud,

The front USB input allows for the content to be played on the rear screens or at the front at any one time but just not front and rear together. The TV tuner actually allows for all 3 screen to play the same content so am hoping a bit of coding magic will work as the link between the 2 is definitely there.
