Not sure if I explained it clear. With steering assist enabled, taking your hands off the wheel for 7-10 seconds and the features disables. Would love to disable that.
I like to have my hands on the wheel but I'm old fashioned that way, it disables because the car isn't capable of driving itself.
It disables because its an assistance not self driving. Its also a liability issue for BMW. With that being said, I'm a big boy and know how to handle my G12 in all scenarios.

Having your hands on the wheel will help with that.

I just got BimmerCode and OBDLink MX+.

How do I code:

* fog light on with high beam
* comfort close with key fob
* disable chime only for seatbelt - keep warning on dash

I was able to code:
* close tailgate with key fob
* turn off all seatbelt warnings
* default driving mode

Hi all,

I'm new to coding and need some help/advise please, I've got a 2016 G11 730d xDrive, and am trying to code it to match a G30, so far have successfully changed from ID5 to IDT6 via expert mode in Bimmercode.

I now want to change the digital instrument cluster to show the added info in ECO PRO mode the G30 does (miles saves, miles coasted) I was able to change the display from the standard Power/Charge to the G30 one using :-
GLOBAL_TUBE_RECHTS_INHALT_ECO_ANSICHT
from
eda to komb_verbr_anzeige

the issue I have is the display has changed but it doesn't show the figures for for miles saved and miles coasted, does anyone know how to code this please?

SbrVariantPas set to SBR_ohne_SBE_SBR-3.0

Deactivation belt condition indicator driver in cluster

Deactivation belt condition indicator front passenger in cluster
SbrDispBltStPasEnb Set to NICHT_¬AKTIV
Speed threshold for motion detection
SbrVvehMotion Wrete = FF
Speed threshold for SBR (Seat Belt) warning
SbrVvehWarn Wrete = FF

It seems to drive really well considering it’s not a “self driving” car, but the steering wheel sensor is very sensitive. If you’re driving with one hand (mainly fingers) then it quickly wants you to grab the wheel. It would be really nice to disable the warning, or extend the waiting time before being triggered.

Regional differences. Some countries do not require hands on wheel, so no coding is needed.

If theres an option to extend or disable all together, I'm definitely coding it.
Anyone have any luck finding a way to extend or disable this? Driving with one hand, especially when holding the area where the wheel and center bar connect, makes the car think I'm not touching the wheel at all pretty often. During that "grace period" of 7 seconds or so before it warns you and disables, the car does drive itself very well. I've tried it on aggressive turns and it still steers perfect through the turn completely on it's own.

Maybe this also works on the G11....

https://quidzel.com/

It’s a device you plug and makes the steering wheel think you’re always touching it.

That is pretty crazy. Not sure I'd want to spend $300 to disable it, but it is a pretty interesting option.

I emailed the company to ask if it would work fine on a G11/G12 and never got a reply.

It seems that after plugging it, the steering wheel will think that you’re always touching it.
