Hello,

I just bought an i760x. This is my first electric car and I was wondering if the bmw wall box is worth it? I just got the car delivered to me tonight and I will have to wait until next week for the electrician to come install the right outlet in my garage. I’m not in a rush to drive since I’m not too familiar with how charging stations work as I wanted to do it at home 1st.

From my 20 mins drive to the house from the dealership that it was delivered to: it was great!! The car reminded me a mini version of Royce Rolls. Lol.. Really smooth. I got this car because my Ferrari FF was just too small to carry the kids. Now the kids get to watch TV while I drive. Lol.. I got the car because of the great incentives and discounts . I didn’t even drive one before but I’m a sucker for deals. lol.

I can wait to drive more of and talk about it on the form. Can’t wait for BMW to make an electric X7 to replace our X7 currently. Lol

Congratulations!

Was it a custom build or purchased from the lot?

Are you able to share your deal terms?

No. Buy a Hard-Wired 48A Juicebox and have the electrician put it on a 60A circuit. This will be the fastest Level 2 charging you can do on this vehicle and at your USA home on single phase power.

Enjoy the new ride, got it for many of the same reasons, except I'm poor and can't afford the Ferrari. Kids enjoy the 8k Theater Screen. The YouTube videos sound great in the drivers seat on the B&W Diamond Surround System, lol!

Is there a link that you recommend? So the juice box is faster than bmw wall box?

Oh, come on! If you’re driving this I can see a Ferrari in your future! Lol

Congratulations on your beautiful car! I'm jealous (for a few months until I take delivery myself)!

As for the BMW wall box, inasmuch as BMW sells it on their website (ostensibly as a companion for the vehicle), it's generally considered a nice convenience only, because it's likewise known to be a very poor value for the price. There are a good number of separate chargers -- hardwired and portable -- the obtaining of which would be a much wiser decision. However, whether you keep the BMW wall box, obtain another, or go with a portable charger for your garage wall (the latter which I did), I DO wholly support the ultimate outcome of keeping BMW's portable charger safely stored in your trunk's sub-trunk for use on the road should you need it. I'd also recommend a Tesla adapter to throw in their too just to cover all bases. With all of that you'll be in possession of the ultimate level of flexibility at home and on the road.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/648...?skuId=6486278

The juicebox 48 or any 48v evse will provide 11.9kw/h charge rate vs. the bmw wall box max rate of 9.6kw/h, so yes both evse on the max circuit would result in a faster charge rate with the Juicebox vs the BMW Wallbox Gen3

As far as the Ferrari, I’m sure I could get one if I wanted, but if I was to go supercar, Lambo is more my style . I would much prefer retirement at age 55 or earlier

Thanks for the link! A friend is trying to get me into replacing the ff with a Evo or a f8! I was close to buying 720, but the reliability on it especially older years have not been good. I’ll wait for prices to go down a bit before jumping on the weekend/fun car.

CA dealers are offering 5-6% off MSRP on i7s - wanted to compare to your % discount off of MSRP in Houston.

I cobbled out a 7% off MSRP deal for myself for my i7 here in the SFBA.

I got 10% before incentives. Let me know if you want me to ask my broker for you.

i7 eDrive50 Limousine in Germany with a msrp of 132k EUR (VAT included, 116k car and 16k extras) with a discount of 26%!! = 97k EUR cash incl. VAT. Condition: must be ordered right now and delivered before end of 2023.
Seems no one likes the design and size of the G70 in Germany and they are struggling to sell the car in Germany. It's well known here, that the car is designed for US, China....

WOWZA, over a 1/4 off.... I'll TAKE IT!!
Hey, the car isn't for everybody (or every country). Buy it for me, send it to me here in the USA and I'll reimburse you, OK!?!

Just fof my 1st charge at an electrified station. Only one station was work so I had to wait an hour. But I only need 25 mins to charge to 80% from 35%. Can’t wait for the charging box to come to the house!

There’s another thread going around charging infrastructure for the i7 and this is not confidence-inspiring.

One week with the i7 /

Pros:
Luxury and refinement of the i7 is incredible. I’m not sure if buying a Bentley is even worth it now, since the car is so quiet and comfortable that I’m wondering how other luxury car manufacturers can compete.

Cons:

I have noticed that I drive more faster with the i7 than I do when I drive my Ferrari. Lol.. Due to the lack of sound and instant torque I’m able to make moves quick. While this might not be a big deal to people, I was thinking that this was going to be a dull to drive and be in line with my wife’s x7. Lol. But it still has the bmw DNA in it. I just have to back of the gas pedal hopefully after this week I’ll be good.

Anyone also notice that they’re driving a little bit fast? Lol

In my test drive I was going 100 multiple times without even knowing it. It’s addictive.
