LED angel eyes
Hey everyone. I've been a long member of the M3post forum. I just took delivery of my 2012 750 xi and the first thing that needs to go are the awful yellow angel eyes.
For those interested in seeing pictures, see my post. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=739227 Anyways I'm considering this kit from E92 Lighting but seriously concerned about error codes on the dash, overheating and complicated install process http://www.e92-lighting.com/products...09-1105-0.html If you have this kit in your 7 and your happy, I would love to hear from you. |

Ok, so here's the pictures.
Some notes: -Install is easy, I left the large transistors outside of the headlamp housing because I'm worried about the heat. I've left the transistors on the outside, I didn't drill a hole in the cover because you're risking moisture inside the headlamp cover. The wires for the transistors are thin enough that you can close the cover. I zip tied the transistors at the top, I think they'll be fine and shouldn't get too hot. -The lights are bright, not as bright as the LCI angel eyes. I'm happy with the look, I couldn't stand the yellow. -No error codes. Pictures; Box contents: Install: Yellow bulbs: LED: Purchased from eBay, seller does speak english and shipping time to Canada is about 5-7 business days. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/200772477113 Last edited by 335ifanatic; 09-10-2012 at 09:22 PM.. |

These look pretty good. I would love to see some evening photos if you have a chance.
Have you ever thought about changing the bulbs in your fog lights? |

I never turn on my fogs so no point of updating them.
I have the Alpina spoiler which I ordered from here; http://www.schmiedmann.com/4100863/p...uctnumber.aspx I forgot to mention, the Alpina spoiler does require cutting of your OEM bumper so once the lip is on, it's on for good. Last edited by 335ifanatic; 09-10-2012 at 11:57 PM.. |

Thanks and yes, the yellow lights were awful lol. What a difference these lights made but I wish they were a little more brighter. The best option to get as close as the LCI angels is the Alpinemss lights you have installed.

Those are really sexy, but to me they look like an HID kit with ballasts and wiring harnesses. I have these in my E93 M3 and they come with a lot of challenges.
Installation is messy and requires you to run wires under the hood. You need to tap into your 12v connection and find a suitable place to hide the ballasts Throws up battery warnings on my dash. My dealer gives me a hard time about them. Any electrical issues with the car and they immediately blame it on the kit. @ssholes.... I just want something simple and problem free. I'm really hoping the LED's from Germany are the answer. |

As far as the error codes, if done by a professional, there are none. I have zero codes on my baby and there is a ton of electrical mods that was done on the car. And as far as angel eyes, it was a big project of modifying the headlight but it was worth every penny as it is one of a kind and the only thing that makes it look LCI and IMO even better and more crisp. |

The other option is buying the 2013 headlamps and doing a retrofit but no one knows if you need other parts for this to work and the cost will be anywhere from $2000-$3000 for the set.

I wouldn't bother with that. It's just not worth it for all that money. I installed the Letronix kit from Germany and I'm pretty happy with them. The installation took 5 minutes and no error codes!!! During the day in bright sun, they aren't very visible, but in the evening, they shine bright and beautiful.
I will snap some pics and send them later. Next I want to change the fog light bulbs. I know you said you don't even turn on your fog lights, but would you know what kind of bulb it uses and how to access it? I also ordered a full 10 piece BMW OEM LED interior lighting kit to replace all the plain interior bulbs. Along with that I ordered BMW OEM Chrome mirror covers. Can't wait to install those!!! Not a lot of Mods available for this car compared to the 3 series. For obvious reasons of course!! |

So I ordered and installed the kit suggested by 335ifanatic and found it throws error codes on the dash. Definitely not happy about it.
It's not his fault, as he probably hasn't seen the error on his vehicle. I e-mailed the company to see what they could do. I would recommend staying away from this kit until I find a resolution. |
