New to the 7 fam

Hey all, did my '16 M4 lease return this weekend and am waiting on final prep on my '19 750i. Honestly, I thought I'd be leaving the store with either an X5 or M550i, but the deals on the remaining '19s were ridiculous. I know BMW puts nice cash on the hood of 7's from time to time, and this was one of those times.

(Trigger warning: longish post)

Case in point -- coming out of the M4, I was thinking my next whip price point was in the 75k-85k range max. Best case scenario would be closer to 75k, so a few weeks ago I started seriously thinking of an X5 xDrive40i. Great vehicle, super impressive, and I felt like the 40i was really a great choice (no way could i swing the nut on a 50i). The build quality seems great and it's super impressive inside and out. A home run for BMW.

I also was thinking of an M550i. I had an F10 550i which I loved. It was a beast. Executive jet all the way. So, naturally, I thought M550i would be it. The design is a little too sober, but I knew it'd be great to drive.

My dealer had a gorgeous X5 in Arctic Grey/Black with M-Sport, the right wheels, etc. His two M550i's were Med Blue/Cognac and Alpine White/Black, both nicely spec'd.

Annnnnnd a few remaining 7's. Turns out the lease numbers on all 3 were really surprising. X5, sticker 74k, came in at around 1040 incl. tax with zero drive off. 84k M550i was 1060 incl. tax. And 105k 750i came in at 995 incl. tax with zero drive off. Crazy crazy. Yeah, it's a lightly spec'd 750 -- Singapore/Black, M-Sport, the right rims, Driver Assistance, Cold Weather, Cooling Seats and Black grille/trunk trim. But all good w/ me.

Already ordered my IND painted front reflectors (no rear one's available?!) and joined BMW CCA for the additional rebate. Tint and detailing getting done today. Delivered tonight to my house. Can't wait!

Good luck. You won't regret. IMHO drives a lot better than a 550.

I literally did the same exact thing today. Similar deal little higher spec but yea I thought I was going to get an M550i and it came out higher.

I think with the 2020s coming in they are trying to move the 19's (personally I think the 19's look better).

Nice job cant wait to see pics!

I had a similar experience when purchasing a 750i xDrive M Sport last month. It was marked down almost $20k before I even started negotiating and then I was also able to get a good trade-in for a 2014 A8L TDI. The deal worked out to be my Audi + $65K for a brand new 750 with an MSRP of $112k. My original plan was to trade my 2018 M4 in for an M5, but I decided to keep the M4 and get a 750 to go along with it. It's a huge upgrade over my old Aud. Especially in performance, since my A8L was a turbodiesel.

When all was said and done about 24k -- there's an unpublished "Flagship" incentive that's available from BMW to the dealerships, to be used at their discretion. This was my 6th BMW in a row from the same dealership and the same salesperson, so basically they passed on all they could.

The luxury market is tough for everyone right now. From what I hear, the all-new A8 is basically dead in the water, the heavily revised (in 2018) S Class doing ok but still slow, the 7 has been slow and of course Tesla Model S (which has been stealing all these customers in the last few years) is also slowing down. BMW is minting money on SUVs right now, so it's easy to put money on the hood of the 7.

^ For me the A8 wasn't something I even considered solely because they decided for some reason not to release the V8 version when they launched the car. I was focused on performance this time around and really only wanted a car with a V8 engine.

Totally get that. Something's telling me this might be the last time I get a brand new car with a big V8

Quick question -- the ambient light strip around the car -- seems unnoticeable? Maybe I have to adjust brightness?
