Interesting brakes. 4 piston up front, single piston rear... Seems a little skimpy for this car. Maybe they'll be a upgrade option?

This is a German, US spec release, no mention of RHD for UK, Japan, AU and NZ specs, I wonder If RHD cars will be rear wheel drive only, as in the UK the only xdrive options are the diesels, all petrols are RWD only.

Why bother with a bespoke engine for this limited-volume platform if you already have a suitable engine in the lineup?

Unless.... we're looking at the next M5/6 engine in a mild state of tune.
We need to see the power curves. There's a big difference between an engine making max power near max RPM and an engine yawning out max power near idle. Not that Im saying thats the case, but I do imagine this will deliver more power at least 1000 RPM lower than the turbo V8, with less fuss. 7 owners also tend to prefer a more subdued, effortless, comfortable ride as opposed to high revving, high pressure noise under the hood. I can understand why theyd go this route, if even just for numbers marketing.

this thing has got to be SERIOUSLY de-tuned to make only 600hp with that monster V12 and twin turbos. Good gods imagine a tune on this thing!

Love the fact that it is V12 but personally I would take the B7 if I had the choice.

How weird you can get a alpina B7 same power but a V8 or get a V13 same power. They should was made it more power than that makes no sense.

Wow! What an engine!

Would love for BMW to put this into a mid engine sports car.

All RHD X models are offered with X-Drive since its a basis of their line, though sadly for RHD cars only very few models comes with X-Drive.

I am also interested to know if this sweet V12 little beast will also be made available in X-Drive for RHD markets, Mauritius here!

Try more like 40-50k over.

LWB only. No SWB V12s for this generation. US is only getting the LWB models so BMW of NA decided to badge them all as an 'i', hence the M760i instead of Li.

P.S. non-M-performance 760Li is coming too btw.

Because it is a luxury car. It's all about being smooth. A 1993 M3 with a 3l l6 engine produced almost the same amount of power as the 1993 750il with a 5l v12 engine. Each engine has it's own application.
I don't know anyone that's driven an S63T2+ that would describe it as stressed or non-linear.

At least not enough to justify a 50% increase in displacement.

We're not talking about a peaky NA I6 vs NA V12; we're talking about two, relatively large displacement TT engines.

There must be more going on here.

Detuned engine for 7 series.
Its full potential will be seen on the next Rolls Royce models.
