That's surprising with all the kit on yours I thought it came in a kit like the tech pack?

Retro fitting would be a big job including new dash roll top etc..in terms of the crystal gear selector I think you need the base gear selector they have in the 8/x5/x6/x7 etc... to do that which is different to ours.

For HUD you need a new dash for HUD, HUD itself and the cable from the Instrument panel. In G series most of the 6WB or 6WA clusters have an exit for HUD but it wold be wise to check first. And code it. 1 day job.

Yes. different one for HUD. I replaced mine under insurance as I picked a stupid rock on our amazing M25. Had to wait 6 weeks for a new to be delivered from Germany.

There a is a special windshield for HUD, but if you dont use , you can still see normally the HUD just sometimes the small edges around the numbers will not be that sharp. But can be used.

In the UK the insurance companies will try and replace the oem windshield with an aftermarket model BUT MOT legislation clearly says a replacement must be a factory unit.
I replaced my windshield on my previous S500 and it came from Germany as none with HUD in the UK.
