Looks are subjective and this looks way cooler than Merc's boring grills. Glad BMW brings something exciting to the table rather than the same old sleep inducing grandfather designs at Merc these days. Edgy mercs from 2006-2013 looked way better and I bet the same people that complained about Mercs polarising designs back then are criticizing BMW's new design philosophy. This is going to sell way better than the pre LCI 7er (at least in Asian and Middle Eastern markers where people don't like boring designs).

It's going to be fun watching the negative Nancies rot on the vine and wither into oblivion along with their irrelevant complaints. All the best BMW!

Even the wheels lack any character or complexity. This whole thing is so cartoonish. Very concerned about the direction for BMW designs.

What’s so ridiculous looking? Have you not looked at the Lexus’ grills or other brands?
Think about it, if they have designed small grills that is going to make the front so out of proportion: headlights big and small kidneys that will resemble a pig’s nose.
Advancement in design and technology dictates a radical change.

Usually BMW changes the front and rear lights while keeping the same interior! Why redo the front and rear without even changing the gear lever? Too bad...

Didn't take BMW long to copy Porsche's 992 tail lights. The horizontal light bar and "L" brake lights appear almost identical:

Twin kidneys alone make this once splendid automobile a big pass, though maybe not for the masses.
