Oil leak. Any ideas?
I’ve had my car for 30 days (< 1k miles driven). So far I’ve had a coolant hose leak repaired and have chosen to ignore the washer fluid reservoir leak. My daughter noticed some black drops on the garage floor this afternoon so I took a look under the car. I took this picture looking front to back on the passenger side of the car. For some reason it posted upside down. Any ideas what’s going on here?
Car is a 2016 750i xDrive with 72k miles. The frustrating thing is I had a PPI done because I bought the car out of state and of course it got a clean bill of health. |

Probably several items that go at once and leak. Turbo coolant lines and a few others that go bad…..
https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/t...lines.1397575/ This thread might help. Fwiw I had them done on my 2017 g12. Noticed a few drops of oil one morning on drivers side front and had BMW come get it. Wound up replacing all turbo coolant lines, inter coolers and a few other items while they were in there. The link above gives you some options. |

They would have had to take the top of the motor and turbos off to find it is my thought. All the shielding under the car etc catches a lot of oil and it does burn off from heat. No telling though. Any coolant loss noticed? Have you been monitoring oil consumption ( if any)?

That does not appear to be engine oil unless it was dripped before it went into the engine. It's too clear and it looks too light weight. Could be brake fluid. Look above the areas where you took the pic with a flashlight and see if you can see the source. If not, hose it off and see if it returns.
