Thumbs up LUKA DONCIC is already one of the most clutch players in the NBA!

In case you haven't heard, our "Rookie Sensation aka "Rookie of The Year", is one of the most prolific players in the NBA at age 19! He is being compared to none other than the next: LeBron James!
I've seen him play in person and plenty on TV, he is definitely a Phenom!
He's 6'8 with the handles of a Point Guard, the shooting skills of the great Dirk Nowitzki, good Defense and Passing ability of the pest Guards in the game. And of course, like Dirk, he's a very humble dude. I am so gad the Mavs made that trade for him over Trae Young.

https://sports.yahoo.com/luka-doncic...191529966.html

Quote:
NBA leaders in clutch scoring this season

1. Kemba Walker: 85 points on 39.6% shooting
2. James Harden: 65 pts (39.5%)
3. Victor Oladipo: 62 pts (65.5%)
4. Luka Doncic: 55 pts (65.4%)
4. Kyrie Irving: 55 pts (45.2%)
6. Kevin Durant: 52 pts (40.5%)

1 of those guys is 19 yrs old!

Yes, Luka is 17-of-26 from the floor, including 6-of-11 from 3-point territory, in the final three minutes of one-possession games this season.

Ridiculous.

The future looks bright for the Mavericks. I can definitely see him as the next Dirk. And as you stated TX....a very humbling young man. Maybe that's due to him being from Europe. Lol! Lol!

It is very unfortunate that either Dallas needs a different Coach (which I'm leaning towards) or at least 2 other very good players. Because they can't win for shit!

I think Avery Johnson did a great job with the team, but I definitely think they have some missing pieces.
Bringing in Jordan at the Center position was a great move. Just hope he stays with the Mavs after this year. As far as Smith is concerned, I would trade him if the Mavs can get something good in return.
Just my .02 though.

Dude is ballin, legit scorer and leader and great to build a team around. About time the mavericks focused on drafting talent. Hopefully Dennis Smith and him build some chemistry because Smith is a good player.

I'm a fan, the guy is very talented. Not going to get a ring with Dallas, so i hope he comes to a better market like LA, Boston maybe NY

Agreed! Jordan is playing very well and is easily the best center they've ever had besides Tyson Chandler. I hope he stays!

What sucks about the NBA is that the Mavs won't win anything until the Warriors, Rockets, Thunder, etc. collapse. Lakers will be formidable and on the upswing if they have a good free agency. Until then Dallas is just another franchise with a superstar hoping for the best.

Basketball is just such a talent-driven sport that its not even fun to follow your team unless they are Conference Finals caliber.

I respectfully disagree! A good or even great Basketball Team is determined with "High Quality Players or even Stars"! That being said, MAVS are literally 2 good players or 1 Star player away from easily being in the Top 3 or 5.

Football is different: Great Coaching and a stud QB with solid supporting cast is all you need to truly compete and win it all. Just ask the Patriots.

Yeah but so many teams are just "one or two" good players away. Memphis and Portland are prime examples of teams that have been teetering with middling success for years. It never went anywhere for them. At the end of the day it's a star-driven league, my '04 Pistons were an anomaly. They went to like 6-7 straight ECFs and only got to the Finals twice, winning once. I suppose 2011 Mavs were another exception.

Thumbs down

Apparently... Lot's of hate towards the MAVS from their piers.
This some complete BULLSHIT!!!

I would put Luka in the all star bench for sure. I wish we could get him on the Lakers.

Exactly!

He just recorded his second Triple Double this session against one of the best defense in the NBA: Toronto.

I think Dallas can find some good pieces around him. We cant keep the powder dry or whatever Donny was saying back in the previous failed years of free agency.

Tanking by illusion of winning...i love it. They need more draft picks and not a first round sweep and mediocrity. Let Luka develop and see what the draft brings them. This draft class should be decent.

I dont watch any mavericks basketball since I moved but they arent going to do much in the playoffs even if they make it so i wonder if this intentional because rick isnt aloof
