Turbo coolant lines - recall ?
Hi all,
So my 2018 G11 750xi is having the usual problem - Turbo coolant lines are leaking, for now only one of them - you can see the videos attached ... https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EbF...ew?usp=sharing The dealer is asking around 2500$ to fix. Now my question - considering that this seems to be an "usual" problem on most of the N63 engines ... is there any official recall for this issue ??? Mine is 2018 so I have the N63TU2. Thank you |

2500 from a dealership isn't a bad deal for that issue. I haven't seen a recall on it unfortunately even though the fix is to replace the rubber pipes with metal. Seems like they know they screwed up and found a solution yet we have to pay up for it

There was an SIB for 2016 and 2017, but looks similar to your 2018.
https://testing-public.carmd.com/Tsb...0B11%2004%2017 Looks like just the rubber hoses can be replaced, about $20 in parts for new hoses and clamps. The labor doesn't look bad at all. I've heard there is a new design with metal braided hoses. I don't know anything other than that, but that would definitely be much more labor to replace. |

Thank you - to me the SIB for 16-17 should apply actually to all N63's considering that if you just do a google search you will find aloooooot of people posting this issue.
Also it is only for the G12 ... that's really non-sense ! What I will do I'll send an email to BMW directly in Germany to see if someone is answering. Will keep you updated on what type of hoses they will install ... |

I have line 2 for the return coolant line leaking pretty bad ATM. Filled up last night with coolant and this afternoon when I pulled out there was a pull of coolant on floor. Based off some pictures, (not sure what engine code), I've seen.. is it really that difficult to replace the coolant lines? I have a 2016 750ix G11 with n63tu2. Given i filled almost the whole reservoir the evening before I'm worried it's more then just line 2. And how does that SIB thing work?
