Video Features: BMW Zagato Coupe
BIMMERPOST NEWS Video Features: BMW Zagato Coupe BMW has just debuted the BMW Zagato Coupe [full details and gallery] at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy. BMW may be based in Bavaria, but some of its notable designs flowed from the hands of Italian designers who were responsible for the looks of the BMW 3200 Michelotti Vignale (1959), BMW 700 (1959), BMW 3200 CS Bertone (1962) and BMW M1 (1978). The videos below show the process and results of the design collaboration between BMW and the Italian designers at Zagato. |

I don't get it. If BMW wants to make a very exclusive coupe, why not make the Vision Connective Drive? I mean, that car is really beautiful.
This car, however, is more like that concept from 2000. I forgot that concept's name... Aha! The front is like that CS concept, which I don't really like. The rear is just... Weird. I can see some Z4's elements in it, but something is just not right. Oh well, all I want to say is I don't feel like this car is a BMW. It's more like some other company tries to copy BMW's design language and turns out to be really weird. |

Oh, never mind then. If it is really just a design study. Just in the video they keep saying "Exclusive Coupe", "Hand made" and blah blah blah. Of course it is hand made then. Duh...

Beautiful. Perhaps the concept will make it to production some day.

The question is not "Why?" but "When?"
When is BMW going to get their heads out of their asses and make a real E89 Coupé? Zagato's made their modern interpretation of it (although after looking at the pics and vids there is still a lot left to be desired) and kudos for the attempt. In the end I'm glad I still have the original Z4 Coupé. |

They make it seem revolutionary but to me it just seems that with few tweaks the final designs will land this car as the current z4 coupé.

very different lines not seen on a bmw -
gorgeous. my only gripe with the video is the front plate - block'n the curves. the candy paint looks excellent. nice to see bmw collaborate creatively with others.
