Please give me your opinion, Buying a 2003 745LI used w/ 82000 miles
Please give me your opinion, Buying a 2003 745LI used w/ 82000 miles
This appears to be an absolutely magnificent 745LI, I am in love with the styling and features. It is fully loaded, all premium packages, ventilated massaging seats, soft close doors, trunk, auto shades all the works. I have a couple questions though --- since it is at 82000 miles, am I in for a considerable set of costly repairs? I am having my mechanic check it out on Tuesday but I am wondering if this will be a reliable product, so in your experience, would this 745li be a safe bet for reliability? It doesn't seem to be leaking and seems like it was well cared for, everything works on it. Im just worried about the age and the mileage. I can get it for $20,000 out the door without warranty... Any advice would be so greatly appreciated!, -Rob |

Personally, I think the miles are high for that year and price. As an example, I am selling my 2004 745i Sport, 33,000 miles, Premium Sound/ Comfort Access/ Cold Weather/ Sport Pkg/ Clear Bra/ relatively new Michelin Primacy tires with a transferrable Platinum bumper-to-bumper no-deductible warranty until 2013, in immaculate condition inside & out, and I would be happy to get $25,000 based on all the research I've done. I think the difference in peace of mind in having some form of extended warranty and significantly lower miles would be worth a few extra thou.

It's Dark graphite with black leather and glossy walnut trim. The paint on this 2004 7 is incredible (of course my regimen of clay bar & Zaino Polish/wax is responsible for that). Put it this way: many is the night that after reading all the BMW forum information I can digest, I go into my garage, turn on the big lights and marvel at the mirror glossiness and wet-ice feel of running my finger over the paint finish. I love this car...
