Over here you can’t even buy a BB gun without a police check and a license. Mind you, it’s probably why we don’t have tens of thousands of gun deaths every year
Don't under estimate BB guns from the UK, if you buy a good one, and if you are hit by it really close up, it can still smart a bit !!

Yep. Just to keep this in line with the subject matter of firearms, that aforementioned beast of a rifle has an effective range of 1.1 miles (1,800 meters)!!

Something like that - one of my mates used to shoot for the Scottish Commonwealth squad, and I remember him saying owning a firearm - even a small-bore competition piece - was a complete nightmare

Is it the Dragunov that’s the Russian equivalent, or is that a smaller bore weapon? I remember seeing that in “American Sniper” - another awesome film.

Try telling that to rabbits & crows. Fortunately we don’t get anything as pestilential as coyotes here. Even the foxes are semi-tame round our way

I believe that is a Russian Sniper rifle, probably being used on innocents as we speak as well.

Though in the interest of balance, it’s probably what Ukrainian forces are using as well.

Barrett M82 is chambered in .50BMG and the Dragonov is Chambered in 7.62x54r. The .50BMG is a much larger round with a longer effective range. So I wouldn't consider them equivalent. You can just walk into a gun shop and purchase an M82 btw. There is one for sale at my local shop for roughly $10k.

You could be right to be fair, I keep looking out on the news and the footage of the invasion, and seeing what kind of guns they have. Not seen Drugsunov yet.

Firearms in the hands of citizens is the only reason the U.S. has some semblance of a democracy/republic and freedom.

My SHTF firearms are always ready to go. This country is anything but stable right now. The world isn't stable either.

I just picked up a plate carrier & plates as well. Better to have it and not need it...

Good job! Level IV plates or level IIIA plates are nice to have. I am actually going to get my lady a set of ceramic plates as well now that I have transformed her into a gun lover and she now has a CCW. I use a plate carrier vest with level IV plates for active shooter situations at work. It's nice piece of mind.

I am not sure I agree, It depends what BMW you have whether that analogy works or not, and then the person could jump out the way and you trash your BMW even if it is a 320d. You have then not achieved your goal and out of pocket by a 320d

Same here, level IV ftw. Mfr grants 4 years warranty before I have to change them, is that the same at yours?

Yeah it's the same for mine as well. My duty vest is a IIIA with a rifle plate in the chest area.

As Sedan Clan said, Holosun red dot and I think that is a UTG 3x magnifier. The rest of that is pretty simple, Streamlight TLR-1 w/remote switch, a little green light on top (supposedly dogs can't see green), magpul FDE furniture, some 45 degree offset irons, and a pair of click together smoke mags.

I prefer the Holosun red dots because the right model comes with solar power and shake awake. You grab the gun and it is on and I don't have to fiddle around with the batteries. On one gun I have an ATN IR scope and I can't stand it. I swear the batteries go dead on that while I am just walking across the farm.

As far as scopes go, it really depends on what you are mounting it on and what are you using it for. You can drop thousands of dollars quickly on scopes. I have a Daniel Defense with a Vortex 1-8 Strike Eagle mounted on it. The DD is .556 and a 16" barrel. That makes for a nice combination. If you check gundeals.com you can usually find the Vortex with the mount for less than $400.

Anybody ever seen this? From the looks of the blue shirt clad folks in the background, I'd say the Swiss are cool with open carry in the Apple Store..
