I drive 7 hours one way to see her once a month. Usually I stay a week or so before I head back home. The distance is about 500 miles on way, so 1000 miles back and forth. I currently have 125k miles on my F30, you shouldn't worry about highway mileage, honestly. Just drive your car that you'll be comfortable with for the journey.

19 the 1990's I would pickup my girlfriend in my dads 420 sel to go for a movie, she said beautiful car but way to much "pardon me, do you have any grey poupon?" Vibe
She said let's take your truck it has a big V8 and it's a single cab bench seat 😬 20+ years later I'm still with her |

The nonsense is with the travelling. For a wife or family, yeah, I get it. But a girlfriend? Have you guys though on the impact you're imposing on the world by your carbon footprint? Either marry her or move on. |

I only drive one. So, from your stand point, it makes no difference, as long as I'm not letting it iddle in the garage overnight.

You could replace any driver by another car, that'll maybe affects you comfort. But had you find the right person for life and think also about cars...then the right person came maybe too soon for you. Just sayin...

Stop complaining, it's just miles. Get another car if you have to. I commute 1:40-2hrs from NYC to Philly where my gf and I live. I can't stand NYC and we live a better life in Philly. Eventually we will move to NJ which will require her to have a 30 min commute by car and shorten mine around 20-30 min depending on traffic. If she is the one then sacrifice and do the drive. I'm hoping she makes the time to go to you as well (which mine does when I work on the weekends)

1:20 isn't that far and x3 is a winter beater. I just don't get why people choose to drive shitboxes to save miles. I daily drive all my cars including M3 and S2000, and at one point I used to work over 1 hour away and drove there 5-6 times per week. Loved driving there, highway and no traffic. If trip is short, I usually take my wife's car, if trip is long I always take mine because I enjoy driving my cars more
