Let the BASS go BOOOOOOOOOOM

Just thought id share a photo of my little stereo on my 7. Sweet addition to the factory equipped system. Components used for install as follow's.

1x Audio Control LCi2 Line Converter
1x JL Audio XD1000/1 v2
1x JL Audio W7 12" in custom ported box
All 4gauge power Connections W/Safety Fusing

This Set-Up is a very simple addition to enhance the bottom end bass response in the 7'. Easy installation procedures and simple factory integration.

Couple more photos. So u know, it sounds amazing. You can have it be a gentle addition or what i call a BARF BASS GENERATOR in the trunk. 😂😂

Nice! I had so many previous cars with custom stereo installs. But alas... I'm a middle aged dad and I need every inch of trunk space to carry shit.

I feel you. I got 3 kids. Thats why other car is a Caravan. 😂😂 This is first 7' i added a little extra bass to. Back in the days, i had some heavy stereo's too. Actually used to own a Stereo Shop. Build 1 car that toured HIN (Hot Import Night's) for 2 years. Got all kinds of experience in the customization industry. U got any photos of Custom Install's you had before?

It is a really good sounding combo. The most critical piece that i recommend to everyone is the AUDIOCONTROL line output converter. This is what will take the signal from the factory amplifier and convert it to a useable signal for your sub amplifier of choice.

What makes the Audio Control piece unique is that it can handle 400 watts rms of input per channel totalling 800 watts between 2 channels. Critical as the BMW equipped amplifier is very powerful and will distort most adapters at high volumes. Keep the bass dropping.

Im thinking of doing the same in my gran coupe 640. Where do you suggest i source these:

1x Audio Control LCi2 Line Converter
1x JL Audio XD1000/1 v2
1x JL Audio W7 12" in custom ported box
All 4gauge power Connections W/Safety Fusing

Also, im in Dc. Are you close by? I assume not but worth asking. I would love to learn how to install this.

Wow a W7... very nice! Just picked myself up a Honda Civic as a commuter car and was considering JL for a bit of a kick. This may have just sealed the deal

Wiring can depend on what audio setup you have and model year.

I also think to do something with my sound but not that big box to the trunk. Not much space it’s a hybrid.
What about sound inside? Is this good? It have good sound isolation I think outside you can hear pretty wel from the trunk but how about the inside? I had Audi a6 state wagon so there was awesome. My friend have Mercedes S class and he did in the trunk and that’s not that awesome when you can hear not only sound but all other stuff actually.
So I was thinking to replace my under seat speakers and also amplifier also 4 speakers with tweets, but the price only for parts 1550€.. + work = 2000€ not sure if I want to do that😂

I will add a picture of the setup where I was.

I also got a hybrid. I traded in my 535e which happens to have the same exact trunk as the 745e. I used a JL 10" subwoofer / enclosure setup and the bass worked really well. If you want to see how it looks/fits I actually have a youtube install video for the 535e. I test fitted the same sub in the 7 series and it pretty much fits the same. The bass traveled really well thru to the cabin. Only needed the bass knob set to halfway and I really like a lot of bass.

Thank you. Definitely I will watch I think that would be cheaper than 2000€🤷🏼‍♂️
Just you know I don’t want outside lot of crank noise from everything and inside not that great. Yeah and trunk is really small on my g12 740Le (well it big actually but it’s not deep.)

P.s also I can’t fold my back seats at all ) maybe because of all other features it have.

I can't find the wirings by basic data search alone. If still in need for wiring diagrams, send me your VIN and I'll do a printout for you.

Its ok I pulled out a seat to figure it out. Looks like its the same as my 535e

Blue/Red +
Blue/Brown -

Just FYI in case anyone is planning on doing this
There are two sets of these wires, the thicker pair that goes to the HK unit that is behind the plastic bin on the driver side. the thinner pair of these wires goes to the unit that is on top of the plastic bin. Make sure you tap the thicker pair.
