BMW Square tire setup question

Hello! First let me apologize! This is my first post and if I sound like a newbie, it is because I am :-)
I read many articles on staggered vs square setup on this forum. I am mentally prepared to move to square setup, for own preference reasons. My question is about 2018 740i M Drive setup. I talked to a few tire shops about going with square setup, and everyone discouraged it except discount tires, who suggested I get niche Ritz rims and move to 255 45 R19 tires. I want to continue using my existing rims with square setup.

Looking at Michelin website, it looks like I can go square setup with 245 50R18 and keep the same rims. Has anyone tried it?
My current setup is 245 45R19 in front and 27540R19 in the rear. I got OEM crappy Hankook tires with my car.

Thank you!

It also looks like (per Michelin website), I can go squared setup with existing Rims using 245/45 R19XL tires as well.

I use square 245/50-18 tires on stock 2018 740 rims on my 2018 640M Sport GT. They are take offs a stock 2018 740 and the 640 GT is similair in weight and length. I use the same setup for my snow tires. Honestly I think they are fine. It is the standard size these cars come with per the factory. They ride comfortably and match the cares luxury ride quality in my opinion. I also have a set of 245/45-19 wheels but they are not as smooth or responsive on the roads I drive. They are exactly the same outer dimensions.

I appreciate your feedback very much! I just checked your response... and just yesterday I was driving by the BMW dealership and I stopped to ask the parts department the same question... and their answer was same as yours. If I buy two rims and 4 tires from them, the bill was a whopping 3700!!!!

I now plan to buy three stock rims for rear from ebay + 1 spare, buy 4 tires (non-run flat), and move forward with your recommendation in few months.

Again, I very much appreciate your response.

hello invader@mail.com

I am in the process of doing the same thing. I bought 4 x 18" takeoff wheels from a 2018 BMW 740e and now I need to get the tires. So far www.tirebuyer.com has the best price for 245/50-18 Michelin X3 tires. This will be half of the dealers price or less.
