New car poll... Audi TTRS or Corvette GS Z07?

With the TTRS, I would add a tune, camber plates and springs to dial out understeer, GS I would keep stock.

With the Audi and a stage 1 tune, around 500HP and 0-60, low 3's

But GS with Z07 package you get 1.2g cornering.

Tough choice, both priced similarly

With the TTRS you get that insane launch. Such a quick devil. On the other hand with the GS you can get the 7MT and sacrifice from-a-dig quickness for amazing cornering grip.

I imagine the TTRS handles quite well too.

I'd go with the Vette. I think the current gen looks like a fighter jet. Can't say no to that soundtrack either

Even with camber, haldex controller and a big rear bar the TT will still push a bit. It is very quick but depending upon how much you value a more traditional rwd handling bias you might be disappointed. If you never really push the car and spend most time on the street or don't mind a little push...then it's pretty good.

TLDR = Vette

Pretty substantially different cars, which based on the history in your sig you well know...
I think this comes down to what you want and expect.

Is this gonna be your DD or a weekend toy?
What's your driving style, or maybe better to ask, your driving style where the car will see it's primary time?
Buying virgin new, or already broken in?
Want a manual trans? (Z07 is the only option here, the '18 TTRS is DC only)

If the Audi had an APR stage 5 tune and could reverse the earth's rotation upon accelerating, I'd still choose the GS. The fun-to-drive factor is, by all accounts, off the charts. Plus, it has a third pedal and RWD.

See this is where I was headed... like for me if it were going to be my DD in the northeast, I'd have to go TTRS. Also the back seat while useless to most is perfectly fine for my pup, and fold those seats down and it's basically a hot hatch you can actually haul some stuff.

I'm a hater of all things GM, but the TT is and always has been a chick car lol. I've yet to see a single example of the newest ones on the road.

Both are such incredible performers...
I'd take the one with, in my opinion, has the better exterior and interior styling along with a more premium/luxury feel = TTRS.

Not a fan of either car but I would get the Vette. If you asked Audi RS3 or Vette that would have been a harder decision.

Right, but I need the AWD for an only car. Just wanted to point out the TT is actually a hell of a lot more practical than people tend to give it credit for. Assuming you don't need to fit 4 adults in it, that is.

OP is in the Bay area. Shouldn't be an issue to DD with RWD. Fitting two adults in the back uncomfortably does trump not being able to fit them at all, which is the only advantage I can see in the TTRS. Otherwise Vette all day.

Yeah, I have had both a C6 Z06 and the last gen. TTRS, so I know what I am getting into with each.

I am just so torn, on one hand the TTRS when tuned and with its AWD it a rocket, and it obviously is a nicer place to spend time in, HOWEVER, I LOVE cornering too and it's hard to pass up 1.2g cornering ability with the Z07 package.

I am in the Bay Area, so I don't HAVE to have the AWD. If only I could squeek out 1.1g from the TTRS, it would be an easy decision.

So you're torn between the two for very good reasons.
The tuned TTRS will be a beast when it comes to launch and acceleration.
Handling, you'll have to modify it to get it to where the Vette is for sure. I saw that Audi Sport came out with a line of performance parts for the TTRS and the R8 mid-2017. They stated that they had two and three way adjustable shocks. That, sticky tires and a few other upgrades will more than likely help quite a bit.

Vette - you'll basically be able to get in it and go - no mods really needed.
This is a LEGIT performance car. I remember the 2016 Lightning Lap in Car and Driver had put down a 2:47, which was the exact same time as a 570S and a GT3RS!

Corvette. If I were going for the Audi, I'd just get the TTS and put a JB4 or APR tune on it.

Corvette isn't quite as nice inside as the Audi despite both having digital cockpits. However, The Audi is a bit more cramped inside. Me personally, I'd get a used Audi S3 and a regular Stingray or GrandSport. You can kind of have both that way, plus a back seat just in case.
