PICS: New 7er spotted!! - Camarillo, CA

Walking around Camarillo outlets and immediately spotted the new 7 series. It still has a good amount of camo, but I got as up close and personal as I could with my iPhone6.

Agreed. Doesn't this compete with the normal A8 though? Wouldn't the M-sport version be more up the S8's alley? Although I personally do think that Mercedes and Audi have the luxury+performance sector down with the S63/65 and the S8. Gotta see what Alpina has planned though!

Why does it still have camo on it? Wasn't it already released?

I'm not sure. I don't know if they are in dealerships in the states yet.

Internal stuff you wouldn't see; rocker panel reinforcements, pillar reinforcements, etc.

I'll be interested to read about how well it drives.

However this thing drives, it for sure is the worst looking 7 Series. Proportions and design is just so bad.

I think it looks solid and a bit intimidating.

They took off the camo. Their CEO, Harald Kruger took one look and begged for the camo to be pasted back on.

BMW's CEO reportedly was screaming, "meine Augen brennen" and, "mach, dass es aufhort"

It's been "announced" and "unveiled" but not released. Until the official release (within a matter of weeks at the Frankfurt auto show in Sept) BMW wants to control the images made public. So they're keeping the cars camouflaged in public to spoil any snapshots others take. Makes sense really -- this is a massive launch for them.

And to the naysayers about the design, you really have got to see the car in person. I currently drive an F02 (2012 740Li) and was invited to an unveiling event for the G12 in the US and got to spend a couple of hours with the car. I am blown away by the upgrade in materials quality (interior) and the exterior styling, although "evolutionary" vs. the F01 / F02, is stunning -- especially with the M-Sport package. This will be my next car.

There are 2 aspects that I absolutely HATE on this car:

That Tapblet/iPad sticking out of the dash that looks like a after thought! So foking tacky to me!
And incorporating the 'squished down headlight treatment' from the 3 & 4 Series.

I mean, I'm sure in the right shade and of course new & larger wheels, I can grow on me. But that screen is just horrible. New S Class is gorgeous inside and out. But to make the new C Class look EXACTLY like it was also a huge turnoff for me as a S Class owner. For the C Class owner it's terrific. LOL
