I read this post yesterday, slept, and woke up literally thinking the pictures part of a dream and that it couldn't be real. Those grills look absolutely ridiculous.

It would be one thing if they designed the car around them like (they tried) with the X5 and X7 but you can't just take an existing body and stick a huge new snout on it and call it a day. The proportions are just all off. Whoever approved of this "redesign" really shouldn't have that job anymore, their judgement is awful and it's hurting my favorite car brand

the grill is way too big on the 7 even when blacked out. I like to see the 745e look so sporty on 21" rims and lowered. glad the hybrid isn't a compromise in styling.

At some point the grills will just overtake the whole hood!

I don't mind the new front grille. If enough of you out there feel so strongly that you won't buy or lease an LCI, that is good news for me because prices will drop.

I'm not going with MB or Audi because of the grille. The Audi grilles are truly awful and MB grill is boring. I'm more interested in the improved V8 and other changes than in the grille.

Hyundai has hired a designer from Audi and an engineer from BMW ///M.
What could possibly go wrong?

I mean, this grill on the new Sonata is like the Audi trout mouth. Come on, at least pick something with anemic grills as your example.

I actually don't mind - and like large grill designs... For example, I like the new Lexus LS500 grill and all Audi grilles.... they flow with the design of the car.

BMW just decided to get the equivalent of a boob job. B cup to DDDD because they felt inadequate.

All subjective I guess, I think the grills on the Audi and Lexus you mention are horrible and ugly. I personally like the new look of the 7er. It finally stands out and looks aggressive, like you mention it finally has balls or looks the part which your top of the line car should.

That grille will have killed the car in the UK (but it was never a big seller as people prefer Range Rovers etc...these days to uber saloons) every time I see that grille I think OMG.

Silly hook shaped headlights with Honda Civic rip-off tail lights? You think this looks good? Lol

I think the new 7 looks great. I think some of these pics are just unflattering (especially when the grille looks all blacked out), but I bet in real life with the chrome grilles, it will look super and very fitting for a 7-series.

This is not only one of the ugliest BMW's grilles but one of the ugliest grilles in the industry. The rest of the car looks like crap also. The S-class looks so much more modern, classier, and sportier. Thank god BMW doesn't sell many of these so we don't have see one everyday.
BMW needs to start from scratch and hire a designer with taste. Obviously this is an opinion but when 90%of the people are saying it is ass ugly than BMW needs to rethink the design.
