New 7 experiences/questions

I picked up my new 750i (Imperial Blue/Saddle Brown Sport, cameras, HUD, driver assist, etc, etc) at the Welt on March 23rd. A fantastic experience, I would highly recommend it to anyone. This is my 15th BMW and the first ED. I finally received my car here in Oklahoma on May 20th. Way too long of a wait, but woth it. I only have about 1000 miles on it so far and I am very well versed on most of the new features. I have several questions of new 750owners:

1) I have a slight hesitation on initial acceleration and it makes it hard to start off smoothly from a stop. I'm not sure if its "turbo lag" or touchy accelerator something else. Anyone else have this issue?

2) In the auto mode for the A/C, the "intensity level" is adjustable to five different levels. I have mine set at the fourth level, and even after the set temperature point is reached, the fan speed never seems to lessen to a lower speed like in my 2006 750i or any other BMW I have owned in recent years. Anyone noticed this?

3) My average gas mileage sucks. No, that's not what I bought the car for, however, compared to my 2006 750i, it's much worse, about 14.5 mpg overall. It just may not be broken in enough yet. If your 750 has more miles, what mileage are you getting?

4) I have the driver assist package and feel good about the blind spot feature (in other words it seems to be working as advertised) however lane departure warning seems to be out of adjustment and freqently vibrates the steering wheel when I'm driving down the middle of the lane. I just might be slightly moving within the lane, but I am certainly not making broad movements towards the lane marking stripes. I have experimented with this feature. Is there possibly a sensitivity adjustment for this feature? What are others experiences with tis feature?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

1. Do you have auto-hold on? That can grip a little whilst trying to pull away gently.
2. Maybe the rear controls are set to something very different to the front and the fan is trying to meet the demand.
3. I'm averaging 37 MPG imperial and very happy with it indeed.
4. Can't comment

the throttle "tip-in" takes a little getting used to...if you use sport mode you'll notice it less
the a/c fan does not lessen but the temp goes down on auto mode
I get around 17.5mpg and have 3500 miles so far

Thanks Fastbuck and Spidey 7.

I talked to two X6 5.0 owners today that say they have similar throttle issues issues so maybe it is just a slight turbo lag common with this engine. As for the A/C, I will adjust the rear control to a lower intensity setting and see if that makes any difference. And as for poor fuel economy, I'll just have to see if anything changes as it gets further broken in.

Greetings fellow Bimmers! This is my first post..I will introduce myself laterut I was dran to this post because I could have wrote it myself. I am the new owner of a 2009 750I, Space Gray, Comfort access, Nav, (more details later) I bought a Dealer demo with 700 miles so I'm still larning the car. I have 2700 miles on it now having driven 200 miles in less than two weeks and I can definitly relate to 1-4 above. I was particularly aware of the low gas mileage since i own another V8 (MB CLK 430) which does a lot better (much lighter car tho) Havent even sat in the back yet so I have to play with the rear AC ttons. 37 MPG Wow...I don't even get that on my E36...those are Toyotaesque numbers As far as the Driver Assist...I need to go play with that...do I even have it? Like I said dealer demo of a car i already knew I wanted and jumped on a good price.

Comfort mode...chill speed (80 MPH) got about 14.9 MPG. Thats about what I get in the MB CLK 430 so I dare not complain.
