DME stage 1 tune

Installed a DME stage 1 tune in my 2016 750i x drive today. Lordy, lordy what a difference. Nor a Z06 but damn fast for a 4700 pound luxury sedan. Took the car out on the interstate and where there was no traffic it pinned the speedometer on 160 and was still pulling strong past 160 mph. Drove over 100 highway miles at 70 to 75 and the milage with the cruise on was still 28 mpg. Install process was easy. Good product

What kind of numbers did you get after the tune? HP+Torque!

I have the stage 1 as well from DME. It's a night and day difference. They advertised stage 1 is 100HP/120TQ over stock HP numbers. I personally haven't put it in the dyno yet to truly know but my butt dyno tells me it's true.

Stock = 445HP/480TQ

Stage 1 = 545HP/600TQ
Stage 2 = 565HP/620TQ

No dyno numbers and I doubt I will get any as there is no 4 wheel dyno in my area. I was not looking to set any records for HP & TQ with this car. I have a 2016 Z07 Corvette that makes 965 RWHP and weighs about 1000 # less. I am very satisfied with the results that the DME tune provided. I really chafed at the speed limiter on the stock OEM tune and that was my primary reason for going to DME, The extra HP & TQ were a bonus.

you mind sharing how the tuning process is done? Is it DIY?

DME does it remotely or if you're local to one of their shops you can go in.

If remote, you'll need Internet, laptop, and ENET cable.

He will have you download team viewer so that he can remote in. Once he's in, he will download the tuning software.

He will download your stock ECU files. He will make the necessary changes to the files and then re-upload the modified files to the ECUs.

Takes roughly an hour or so assuming no challenges.

With the software loaded, he will show you how to return it to stock if needed and re-load the tunes.

Doesn't this tune void the factory warranty?

If the tune contributed to the failure, yes it will void the warranty. Technically they'd have to determine the failure was caused by the tune.

With that said, it's too easy to revert back to stock before going to the dealer.

Maybe it's my luck or dealers in TX are more relaxed, but I've never had a warranty claim denied with my tune loaded.

I looked at putting a tune on my 750ix until I spoke with my indy tech. This is what he sent back:
So....I wouldn’t mess around with a new car or car under CPO with a tune. BMW recently put a tracer in their software and allows them to see when a tune is installed and then taken back out for work at dealer. We have a X5M here currently at shop with that exact issue. Customer complained of drive ability issue. Vehicle has a tune. We removed tune and reinstalled factory software and sent it to dealer. When we programmed it, it set a hard fault showing a tune. BMW NA caught it and voided drivetrain portion of warranty. Appears they aren’t messing around anymore.

The numbers I referenced are from Moe directly a year ago. Looks like they may have an updated tune which is awesome. I need to hit him up tomorrow and see about updating my tune.

Look around online for this tune price. I got mine at a 10% discount from a 2nd party provider. Same service from DME as if you bought it directly from them.

DME will price match so don't ever be afraid to ask. I know some of his resellers / partners run specials. Same service so why not 😀

After tuning, does the Sport Display get rescaled or does it still max out at 480?

Mine was rescaled. My understanding is the tuner has the ability to rescale it.
