Just purchase a 2019 Alpina B7

My first post! Just purchased a 2019 Aplina B7 - Alpina Blue/Ivory - 26,000 miles. I will be using this car as my daily driver and normally put between 15,000 and 20,000 miles per year. Does anyone have any knowledge/advise on what I can expect who has put significant miles on one of these vehilcles?

Traded in a 2019 740i and thought that car was world class. Did not have any idea of what Alpina could do to a vehicle until I was able to experience it myself!

Congratulations! Beautiful car!

As far as issues to look out for, I'd say do some research on the N63 motor and you'll get an idea of potential failures. The N63 is found in the 5er, 7er, 8er and X5/6/7. I doubt any of the Alpina specific additions are an issue specifically other than possible difficulties getting replacement parts.

I had an X5M with the S63 motor and it was a blast but did have issues. It was heavily modified however. If you don't plan to modify the Downpipes or add a ecu tune, it should be a solid platform for many miles. I have a M760i and plan to put a lot of miles on it too. The G11/12 seems to be a very solid chassis and design so hopefully we both have good luck with our special saloons.

Having owned multiple N/S63 based cars, I would recommend oil changes every 5k miles and switching to Redline 5w50.

Freaking gorgeous. Enjoy the car, sure there will be pricy maintenance costs for normal wear and tear but if you take good care of the car it will take care of you!! )

I’d say, Being an N63TU (Technical Update) The whole engine basically got revisions from the older N63. But still do the usuals by checking for oil leaks, Proper Maintenance, Proper Oil Change Intervals, etc. But still do Research from other owners and see what to look out for, Issues, Costs to fix, etc. But overall a pretty Solid Motor and not S85 V10 Reliability.

A few things so far with 55K miles on the Odometer as a DD:

- Fuel Mixture Too Lean errors
- ELSV errors
- KAFAS errors
- Sleep Status error
- Just had one of the turbo coolant lines replaced

....doing periodic checks using ISTA+ would be an easy way to reduce your fears.

I'd say the biggest issue with this vehicle is that:

1. You end up going "much" faster than you realize
2. Rough roads all but disappear in Comfort Plus mode, which may bend your rim

....I plan to keep DD'ing the G12 Alpina for many years to come.

I trust my G12's N63 over our F85's S63....but neither really appreciate short distant stints....lots of black soot on the chrome tail pipes.
