Turn off Start/Stop function

Hi guys,
I've been trying to figure this out for a while but with no luck. Evidently, the start/stop function cannot be turned off in the new G70. The only way around it is to either put the gear selector in S or activate SPORT mode in the my modes menu..
Honestly it's unbelievably irritating because since the new engines are mild hybrid versions the car tends to shut off the engine even before I come to a complete stop. In many situations I find myself needing to stop for a second or two before moving again yet it still shuts off and it's driving me insane.

Has anyone had similar issues? or solutions for that matter.

thanks

There's no way to permanently turn off start/stop. I think in some other BMWs people figured out how to change coding but that will take a while for G70 to figure out and even then, software updates will override it. Over time, I have become numb to it tbh

Yea I read that. However there was always previously a button to temporarily switch it off during your drive. I can't seem to find that either since everything is basically in the screen menus.

Apart from having the transmission in sport mode there is no way to turn it off, even temporarily. I’m still getting used to it as it seems to me that the engine turns off before the car comes to a complete stop and I have to slightly adjust my driving style.

Yea just checked the manual and there's no way to manually deactivate it other than sport mode or putting the shifter in S

This is interesting because on the issue of whether to turn off the ASS or not, I find...

The car is so serene to drive that I like the relaxed quiet demeanor of the car. I find ASS to be pretty unobtrusive. So keeping ASS on is more relaxing than putting the drive selector in "S". In "S" the engine is louder and more aggressive.

Whiie I hated ASS in every other vehicle, I really don't mind it at all and most of time don't want the engine in "S" because it undermines how relaxing the demeanor of the car is.

Every time I drive the 760, it is a relaxing joyful experience.

I only have about 150 miles of experience in my 7 so far but I agree. It also seems to me like the HVAC doesn't have reduced capacity when the engine is off?

It's far more quiter than previous models I agree, but the annoyance is when it decided to turn off even before a complete stop. I guess I'm just gonna have to live with it.
