Suspension comfort - G70 vs S-Class W223
Hello
I'm thinking about buying G70 7-series. Right now I'm owner of 2020 W223 S-Class and on my 7-series test drive I did not noticed difference between suspension comfort (both on 20"). Also is good to notice that I want to buy diesel version, and they do not have executive drive pro (like my diesel s-class dont have active body control) Also sound insulation was simillar. Both cars have double glazed windows. Does any of you tested both cars and can share your thoughts? |

I test drove a '22 S class in September. Ride comfort was comparable, and frankly I would give the G70 a slight edge. Sound insulation in G70 is also slightly better IMHO and is superb. Overall handling of G70 is significantly better. They are both big cars but G70 with 4 wheel steering ("IAS") handles like a much smaller car. To me this is most evident on twisties and when parking in close quarters.

Thank you for sharing your point of view!
I have rear wheel steering in S-class also. My is 4.5 degree max, since I have bigger rear wheels. You can get 10 degree also with narrower wheels. So I did not noticed any difference in that manner. How much the rear wheels turn in the g70? |

I had the 2021 S Class (w the 10 degree rear axle) right before getting the current 2023 BMW 760. The ride comfort, and sound insulation are far superior to the current S Class, no question. I can’t believe I am saying this either! Very comfortable but yet not too floaty! I miss my M5, but 0-60 in about 4 seconds…not too shabby at all for this big car. The interior is awesome, a very clean design and no longer feels like an enlarged version of the 3 series (no offense)! The exterior, in person looks distinct and has grown on me but I added some minor masking bits in the front (I can share pics). I don’t have the rear entertainment screen, but since I am driving the car, it is not very useful for me with the extra cost. Also you need direct internet connection anyways and associated monthly charges. I would say the turning radius subjectively feels like that of a 5 series. I am very happy with this car with the exception of the technology glitch which was resolved, but I forgive BMW because they made an awesome car…before I go full electric in the distant future!

I placed some black vinyl wrap in the front where I thought the design was somewhat odd. For dark colors, it is not much of an issue since it blends in with the black bits in the front.

That looks really good. Question: I noticed in your photo that your hood’s BMW logo has incorporated the M’s red hue and you have an “M” insignia on the grill. I also own the 2023 760i with the “M” Sport Professional package but I don’t have the additional red coloring in the logo or the “M” insignia on the grill. I wasn’t aware these additional details were available to the US market. Curious how you were able to have these details added since I think they look great. Thanks.

I got those online and did not come with the car. I figured since I have the “M” package I am entitled to have the “M” insignia on the grill. To satisfy the little “M” ego in me and also why not? They look good in my opinion! Both are available online.

Good call! Apparently you get that “M” logo in Europe on the fender near driver door
