Question HID/Xenon Bulb Replacement Question

Greetings my fellow 7ers!
So I've been running Osram Cool Blue Intense for many years now. Although they are still running fine, I want a brighter, whiter light. And they have faded I'm sure over these years.
I've decided on a set of Osram Cool Blue Boost bulbs.
Is this a quick, open my hood, open the covers behind the lights, simple install?
Or is there anything difficult about this install?

F02 is a dying car, no one keeps or can afford to maintain outside of warranty expect for us unlucky in love types.. hahaha

It's easy, except for one bolt on each side. Easy if you take the fender liner off, I'm stubborn and use a small 1/4 ratchet that takes 10 minutes at 15* turns to get the bolt off.

I didn't reinstall that bolt on my own car for what it's worth. No issues, 3 is enough.

Yeah, the F0x chassis cars, especially the N63 ones, are a dying breed. Back in the day I owned an M62tu powered Range Rover. No one else had one, as many Rovers I saw there was never a 03-05 RR. They broke too often!

Same with the 750. I see MAYBE a G11/G12 every other month, but rarely see another F01/2.

The N63 is just impossible to work on for most people. They look into the engine bay and see spaghetti everywhere, which I understand. Pair that with excruciating parts prices and bam, they're gone. I had a 2007 Bentley Flying Spur, paid $14,000 from auction for it. Brakes, front and rear, were $1,100 from the dealer. For the 750i from the dealer? $1400!!! The BENTLEY parts were less!

I agree, the car is too hard to keep alive long term.
The reliance on plastic tubes, hoses and parts, and with heat cycles, its just a money pit to keep around. It makes sense why folks don't have them anymore, I just love my F02 so much, i am investing in a few things to keep it another 10 years, i will never sell it, I'm too stubborn for a nice car and its treated me good over the years.

I was close to getting a new B7, and had a B8 on order, both, i didnt see value in spending 150k on what i already have and enjoy.. Once i am done with the remodel of the F02, i will post based on principle for those who love their cars, but I'll guess there is probably a dozen of us left on the forums, and the rest only come here when their newly purchased old F02 breaks.. I just see a huge rise of first-time posters with mechanical issues. They didnt get the TPS report on don't buy a F02 N63 or you will feel broke after owning someone else's ticking time contraption..

Hopefully, my F02 never gets into an accident, I got too much invested into a 15k car, literally probably have 40k into making it the best it could be.. lol

I feel you.. My car is ultra clean, inside and out! And folks always compliment it.
I've considered hanging onto it, but I believe this will be my final year.
12?yrs and I barely have 72k miles and a engine replacement 4yrs ago.
But it's a labor of love no doubt. Although I don't have any issues currently, that can change any moment. I believe that my very limited driving is what has helped me tremendously.
Question... How many times have you changed your battery?
I've had 3 and need another one now. I've just been using a trickle charger to buy some time.

I used to eat batteries till I replaced it and registered it properly. Since then. It’s been good. Are you registering it? BimmerCode and their other app allow you to do it itself or I can do it for you

I know BMW replaced my last one a few years back. I'm also aware of parasitic drains but unwilling to pinpoint it. Just not worth it at this stage. But I plan to have a indy shop replace it and I will make sure they register it. They use BMW certified techs are very reputable.

On average we replace batteries every 4 years, N63, N63tu.
i6 cars seem to last longer at 5-6 years, naturally aspirated i6s last around 7 years before the battery needs replaced.

Then again, we only have maybe 3 N63 cars that get serviced with us. Not common up here in the great white North.

And yes, the dealer certainly coded it. Uncoded batteries will kill themselves in 2 years or so. Usually a dead cell in my experience- correct voltage but only 100-300CCA

Anyone have experience with replacing the video cameras on our cats: Rear view and Side view?

Easier than you think

For side view, front fender liners come out and there is access, or side mirrors off and access there.

For rear camera you must remove the chrome strip along the trunk, and from there you must release the rear view camera via several small plastic clips.
