We need to just wait until apple offical tell us it’s fixed, and use the key fobs for unlocking until then
As I mentioned, iOS 17.1.1 is out, with the fix

So who’s going to take one for the team and test it with their iPhone 15?

Edit: Just realized that the laughing emoji I tried to insert didn’t appear for some reason. Doh!

I am the sacrificial lamb this go round.

The update broke Apple Pay on my iPhone 15 Pro even though my BMW Wireless charger did not. So I'd recommend waiting until another update is released.

If there was any doubt the problem was Apple's...

Hopefully the next update fixes my Apple Pay and I don't need to go get a refurb with a repair swap.

Yep, that’s right. It broke what it was supposed to be protecting.

You mean the upgrade broke the nfc or you used in in the car and it burned out.

That's some goddamn insanity! Am I correct in assuming that your charger wasn't even involved?..

Yes it was also in the latest 17.2 beta ( wasn’t in the first one as I mentioned ).

Thankfully they have brought it forward

Charger not involved.

Really bizarre, but on other sites others have had this issue too. My wife has the BMW out of state and I let her know to hold off on the update. So she doesn’t get impacted.

I guess I haven't been following as closely, but that's insane, as it goes far beyond BMW owners...

It wouldn’t surprise me if on affected phones ( ones that have faulty hardware ), this happens so they can be replaced !

Not ideal but maybe helps apple identify them

It sounds like the entire lineup is "faulty" and it's just a matter of how unlucky one gets.

Apples QC definitely not what it once was.
I know they have been opening factories in other locations for demand and cost cutting reasons , might be something in that

TBH iPhone 15 seems like a complete dumpster fire to me.

I have to disagree. My iPhone 15 has been the best iPhone i have owned. No problems and nice improvement in battery time and speed. But I don’t use the wireless charger. I have a USB to USB-C cord in the car that I use for charging if needed.

Right, which is why I said "for me". Having a 14PM I had absolutely no desire to upgrade this year. In fact, less than any other year I skipped.

If only Apple could fix the charger itself, and make it useful for doing more than heating up the phone.
