Digital art mode

Hello all,

I was wondering if the digital art mode is not available in some cars for any specific reason? Or is it considered as an option i'm not aware of. Is it because of a missing software update of some sort?

I'm in the market to buy a 740 , and the car i was shown does not have the digital art mode, nor does my friend who owns a 760 does.

Appreciate any feedback , as i really liked the mode and it would be a bummer if it's on specific models/trims only

I have it on my i7 (october 2022 build date) & on my iX (june 2022 build date). Both became available in iDrive 8.0 after the 2022/11 iDrive software update

What version of iDrive software are you currently on in the vehicles that don't have the Digital Art Mode?

I haven't even looked to see what I have. I haven't gotten past Comfort and Sport. I admit my ignorance. What do you get with these different modes? Are they worth exploring or are they gimmicks?

All the modes are gimmicks with the exception of Eco and Sport mode that serve inherent purposes. Others play stupid sounds, open/close shades and add massage routines

I also don’t have the didgital art feature on my 740i, but bmw gave me a loaner vehicle that did have it, and I signed into my bmw account on the loaner vechile. Then after picking up my vehicle from service, the feature popped up, but is non functional. It changes the ambient lighting color to purple, but does not display the actual “art”
