Just checked them out online. The price kills it.

The base Polstar 3 is $85k with 300 mile range and 0-60 4.9 sec. The Polstar 3 seems to be the newest one, the "suv" version, with that interior posted above. The base Model Y which I'm guessing would be the most comparable Tesla is $66k 318 mile range and 4.8 sec 0-60 so I would say practically identical specs, but almost $20k cheaper. I just can't see spending an extra $20k for a nicer interior.

Well the interior that was posted was the Polstar 3 which is the "suv" version. So I compared that to the Tesla "suv" the Model Y.

But still if you compare the Polstar 2 with the Model 3 the value is still not there. Comparably equipped Polstar 2 is still $10k more than Model 3 and the Model 3 is faster.

Lyriq is a much better deal at $62k, interior is really good. Highlight is the 33" OLED screen. But there is very long line for those. Kicking myself for not putting a deposit down at the debut.

I just posted the Polestar as they have near identical interior to Tesla with nicer build quality. They are overpriced in my opinion. But it is a higher end vehicle, with better finishes and option list to choose from...it is more of a iX competitor.

Also when quoting ranges, Tesla's are known to never meet their rated range in any real word test. Just about every other manufacturer underrates their ranges. You can see how most EV's stack up in list below.

The more the merrier I say. The Lyriq looks interesting and I'm a fan of Cadillac in general but not something you can buy right now. I guess I don't care for this whole pre-order shit (and honestly Tesla was probably one of the first to start it). I mean MAYBE I would consider waiting a month or two... but years!!?? No way. I'm way too erratic to gamble on what I will want a year or two from now.

Honestly the whole state of the car market sucks donkey dicks right now. Probably why I'm looking to get into something old for my fun car. Like a Z4M, maybe an NC Miata... dunno but all the new shit that's ridiculously expensive and even then not available to purchase has me bummed out on new cars.

100% yes. Modern cars overwhelmingly all suck. I can't get inspired to care about almost anything.

I'm cautiously optimistic for the Ionic 6 N as a DD, next year. Albert Biermann car, well done EV (as in, bespoke EV chassis, rather than a shared/reused ICEV chassis), not a crossover, and all the N cars have been pretty freaking great to drive so far.... unlike any EV I've driven, other than the Lucid or i3.

Everything I've seen says Toyota can barely make cars to meet the current demand. Didn't they lose a ton of revenue recently? Basically none of the dealers have anything in stock that isn't sold and I also read that they announced some kind of realtime pricing adjustment. Like they will be able to change the MSRP on the fly or something like that.... like Tesla does.

They say the first step is admitting you have a problem, I'm just wondering when that first step will be taken so we can move through the the other 11 steps.

That a lot of countries are not structurally or economically able to rid themselves of fossil fuels for energy and transportation, yet.

The "Loss and Damage" fund is a rather strange thing to emerge given that some of those that benefit are also those that contribute the most to the problem (China).

Interesting, thanks for the comment.

Note that VW is considering pushing back (delaying) EV platforms and GM has announced ICE updates in mid-decade of the 2020s.

World ain’t ready.

Question is, will the world ever be ready for an initiative whose principal motivation is increasing carmaker profits?

GM never intended to have an all EV fleet in the 2020's. Their goal is 2030+.

As each year that goes by, look at each car makers fleet in percentage and see that number rise in terms of production EV's.

This isn't stopping. No need to give yourself false hope.
