Alarm problem

I was sitting in the house this evening when the horn started going off very loudly. I tried everything to turn it off but to no avail. After what seemed like an eternity it stopped. So I locked the car and went back in. Then it did it again. This happened three times in total. I have now left the car unlocked as I don't want this happening in the middle of the night. I looked up the handbook and it said to turn the alarm off to grasp the door handle firmly while holding the key. But it didn't make any difference.
Also I recall a couple of weeks ago that my horn beeped a few times of its own accord while driving. It never happened since and I'm I'm not sure if it's connected to tonight's alarm problem.
I'd be very grateful for any help/advice. Thanks.

If you have warranty and breakdown cover, I would call BMW Assist - also, how is the battery?

Also make sure you are not inadvertently pushing the panic button on your key. Happened to me while driving.

I will call then if this happens again. I’ve no reason to think the battery isn’t ok. I took the car for a spin 20 mins ago and the horn went off while driving. I pushed the horn and it stopped. Hasn’t happened since.

All was fine today except when driving home from work when the horn sounded of it’s own accord. I pressed the centre of the steering wheel and it stopped. Weird!
