I would have thought Missouri would have made the list. It's been a few years but I remember driving through and ever car on the road was going exactly 65mph. Eventually someone passed going about 67 and in a bit I saw him pulled over.

I still don't believe any state is more strict than the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Don’t forget in VA if you are caught doing 80 or more, even in a 70mph zone, you get a reckless driving ticket. I see lots of non Virginians driving 85-90 in a 70 area thinking it’s not that bad. Fortunately, although you can be jailed, they typically won’t jail you unless you hit triple digits.....or so I’m told.

When I got pulled over in Virginia going 75, cop told me it's reckless driving. Dude was in an unmarked car that you wouldn't expect to be a cop. Not caprice or crown vic. Don't recall as this was like 10 years ago. I told him I was from CA on business and 75 is normal driving speed on CA freeways. lol I told him you have to hit 100 to be ticketed for reckless driving. He wrote me down for 74. I hired a lawyer and they took care of it for me when I flew back to CA.

Agree on Mississippi - was racing North to I20 (heading to 'Bama), on both I55 and I59 (coming from Louisiana) a couple of times, rarely saw any cop.
Can't agree on Ohio... We got pulled over doing 95 in a 70 and it ripped a hole in my buddies wallet. |

i remember years ago my friend and i were doing a looooooong drive from detroit to boston and i'd just eaten a ton of fried chicken and my stomach was burbling. i was driving 95 in a 55 in a 93 Volvo 850 with no A/C and got pulled over in Massachusetts by a Helicopter, A man standing on the freeway inviting me to stop, AND a cop car with sirens----all coordinated at the same time!! It felt like a made for TV movie; but it was real. Massachusetts take things quite seriously; or perhaps they were just really bored that day My fried chicken did not take things seriously....

Well... Maryland with all the frickin' speed cameras. Then if you avoid those and take public transportation, they spy on your voice conversations on the buses...

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
