No no - I'm saying the E65's competition was behind the curve compared to what it offered.

At this stage, the S-Class is a much stronger competitor relative to the 7er. Back in the early 2000s the E65 was clearly a generation or two ahead. Today that's not really the case.

That's why we have the radical G70 now.

G11 --> Conservative exterior + even more conservative interior? major sales failure
F01 --> A giant 5 series? failure, but sales was not horrendous
