Have you tried the reinitialization instructions given in the owners manual for when the sunroof malfunctions or power has been lost briefly etc.?

Push and hold the open button for a long period of time. The sunroof will go through a full operation then let go. It's a reset.

Push and hold straight up. It will take 20 seconds or so.

Again, I highly recommend checking the instructions in your owners manual...because some new BMW models require that the engine is RUNNING...and some models only need to be in the ready state (START button pressed without foot on brake).

Great...glad it got sorted out. Does the f01/f02 require the engine to be running or do you just press the START button then go into the press & hold of the sunroof button?
