Does anyone here use a Strikeman? I'm thinking of getting one, ammo is expensive and in short supply. Thoughts?

Mantis is the competitor, and their rapid fire adaptor for ARs seems like the right choice. The Strikeman seems to be geared much more towards pistols.

We use it frequently on my job and it helped many less experienced personnel with the fundamentals, without spending costly live ammo. Also can be used for practice anywhere. The end result is progressively noticeable, especially when it's time to actually qualify on the ranges. Anyone struggling with anticipation, trigger squeeze, breathing and or maintaining sight picture, should give one of these systems a try. My humble opinion on why this is an effective training tool is that when I notice a trainee consistently struggling with any (or all) of the fundamentals, is that the anticipation of the round (live or blank) screws them up mentally because when they hear the pop and or witness their shot go wide or high, their confidence deteriorates faster than their eyes fatigue or arms start to shrink, lol This system takes that stress out, so they can build on those basics, instilling more confidence when it's time to load a mag and go hot.

The part that lets you fire 10 rounds at a time thru a rifle is about 170, that seems kinda high. But I guess that would only take about 50 shots to make financial sense, right?

Since the light mounts on the barrel, you can set the app to monitor the "figure 8" in real time. I believe this visual aid helps establish the value in applying the fundamentals for a novice shooter, therefore decreasing the about of time and ammo (and money) at the range, when zeroing or just trying to get a tight grouping.

MSRP is $200. I would argue money and time would be better spent at the range. That is roughly 800 rounds of 9mm at the range. Now if you can use it with multiple people/friends/family members then it has some value potentially.

Tomorrow, we could have a whole bunch of stuffed people just mosey out into the back yard and dry fire some rounds while waiting for the cornhole to be available, all the while erasing some of the fear/anxiety of guns when properly handled.

Being able to use Mantis or similar in your own house without having to travel to a range saves time. The Mantis should last for many thousands of repetions, but that original 800 rounds will be long gone. Dry-fire is a great way to practice. Every top notch competitive shooter uses a dry-fire routine. |

Ammo is really expensive here and in short supply. I can't always get .38 or .357, I agree nothing beats the real deal but I have to wonder if these laser training aids are worth the money? The last time we went to the range we burned through $300 in ammo in about 2 hours.

Random question, so when you buy a random item from Amazon, it can likely be lost in the mail as they say. Has anyone ever heard of a gun being shipped to a gun shop for you to pick up being lost?
I have not, makes me wonder if they are tagged in a special if you lose this you lose your job category? They cant exactly have lost shipment guns running around. |

+1 for the MantisX. I have the first gen and I love it. Definitely helps you improve. It's nice being able to train at home without spending money at the range or burning through my ammo. Not saying you SHOULDN'T do live fire training, I still think it's a must but dry fire with the MantisX, for me anyways, has helped a lot.

I think the common carriers, UPS, etc., require certain guns to be shipped overnight. |

Just got my Omega last month - I really like it. I was shocked it really tightened up my already great shooting 300 HAM'R. Pleasant unanticipated side effect!
Congrats
