MAX eDRIVE not available System Request

I'm getting this message whenever i press the max eDRIVE button
I changed the big 12v battery under the boot floor and registered it but no better.
I've ordered a new IBS earth cable just in case that's the culprit but researching online, it seems there is another 12v battery in the G12 (mines a 740le). If there is, i can't find it!!!! Where is it located????

I don’t know anything about the e models, other than that they are hybrids, with an electric motor and a set of batteries that give you the 30 ish mile range.

Given that the message relates to e drive, I would be looking at the electric motor/batteries rather than the standard batteries related to the petrol part of the drivetrain.

You are getting into a very costly area, so might be worthwhile taking into a dealer and getting any codes read and a diagnosis before any more speculative spending.

It is also a high voltage system, so be very careful!

  • 12V battery requires charging
  • Electrical load is high (eg heating, heated windows etc)
  • Traction battery is flat
  • It's cold (<about 3 degrees IIRC)
  • You're in Sport mode
  • You're in manual shift mode

Is there just the 1 battery on the 740le (other than the hybrid battery)?
I've replaced and registered a new battery and will replace the IBS but keep seeing posts about the G11/G12 having 2 batteries and I can only find 1!!!
The hybrid battery is fully charged and keeping its charge.
