Well I did the upgrade right away and know of other people that did it as well and I have no issues with the phone.
I have not had a chance to try the wireless charger in the car as of yet.

Just trying to get this thread back on track and want to know if any others have used the wireless charging yet and if it solved the problem

Apple must have pushed out a fix. My Apple Pay is working again. Thankfully I didn’t have to go the refurb route.

Other than this minor speed bump my iPhone 15 Pro has been pretty good.

I cannot update mine in which Apple Pay was killed. I keep on getting the error “unable to verify update.”

If your nfc was killed, I'm not sure an update would fix it...

Totally true. The damage is already done.
A software update to a already damaged phone won’t work. It’s like saying you have a flat tire and you get a tune up and the tire is still damaged.

Again the question is who has been trying to use the wireless charger on a known good phone now with the new update and how’s it going. Can anyone report using the charger with the new 17.1.1 update?

It would be amazing if software updates could fix broken things though. Cracked screen? Have we got an update for you!

No damage was done, the chip was in a bad state. I can confirm that this update both gets it back into a good state AND prevents it from happening again.

The failure to verify the update is likely unrelated to the BMW charging issue.
